Is such a joke!
They are so worried about DIU's, they can't even patrol downtown.
James Hylton needs to wake up, and do something about the vandalism, that is happening on Main Street.
We pay money to have new things put on our streets to look nicer for our tourists just for punks to break them.
DUI checks= money for the city
which equals total bull $hit for everyone else.

whats more important something that looks nice or someones life? every drunk removed from the road means oneless heartache for someone. and i was a party person and I am a member of the elite club "DUI"..it was the best thing that happened to me, saved my life and possibly someone elses..So rant elsewhere about the police doing their job that so many bitch they dont do....ever think that maybe a little community watch organisation, might be a solution to the problem, so maybe its you who needs to wake up

The sobriety checkpoints are paid for from the sales of alcoholic bevereages.

I agree with both posts. But I also feel that the curfew that is in our ordinances should be enforced. Cause evidentally some parents don't care what their kids do. If they would have to pay to replace some of the things their kids tear up maybe they will keep tabs on them a little better

james hylton is the very worst cop that god ever put on the earth, he needs to move on,or atleast get his fat ass on a stairmaster.

james get a bigger uniform shirt, the one u have is WAY to small, but better yet, get off your lazy ass and walk the streets of downtown, i have never saw a town with no one in it, and it takes 2 lazy ass officers to patrol it during the day, Pete Sheppard is another, i cannot believe that he can go to all of the beer joints in town, park in the front with his blue jeep, and a police badge license plate on the front, go in get drunk, come out and leave driving, and never get caught for dui, wtf??

the police in wss are a waste of good money, they need to hire someone who gives a shit, more then just for their own personal gain

Im certainly not anti DUI checkpoint, but I do agree that they need to step up their surveillance. WSS cops are probably busy responding to noise complaints and domestic voilence reports. I have wondered though, why DUI checkpoints are just from around 8-11. Youd think if they are really trying to catch drunks theyd be set up later around 2am to catch the drunks leaving the club.

I agree WSSRES and I don't know if it is actually the law to place notices in the newspaper but having surprise check points in different location would help also. If people know the location is will only be dodged and it would help if they have it closer to stop in Hart's Run and this helps from the drunks getting straight on interstate to dodge those check points.

Yes, part of the reason notices are placed in the paper is due to laws or the interpretation of them. Also, they mist leave a way to go around the checkpoint ad well, which is another part of how laws are interpreted. Ever wonder why an officer usually has a reason for pulling you over, even though you may think you've done nothing wrong? It's mainly because of a Federal ruling several years ago, where a man got off of a DUI and drug charges, only because the officer was just doing random checks for DUI.

wws survives off of checkpoints. there are not enough businesses to generate a tax base for the community to survive and nobody wants to open a business in an area where the police write tickets to support the city budget and the police do not protect and just agitate the population. the police will pull you over for absolutely any reason they can make up. I have seen the same car pulled over in harts run and again by vaunghs within 10 minutes and no violations. I don't even bother to go into wss anymore.

Is Jerry Smith still a town cop? That guy was constantly trying to mess with teeny-bopper girls. I lived in WSS for years and never saw him that he wasn't sitting around in his car with a couple of 12 or 14 year old girls leaning in the window.

If wss needs some more good cops, why don't you go to the academy. find out what the wss cops are doing wrong and put an end to it. DUI check point are very important. i don't what some drunk killing me or some child, because of a good time. stay at home and drink, you are only hurting yourself. if you run out call a friend to go get you more beer.
