<quoted text>You must NOT work at the Greenbrier or you are in management. I CAN'T get worse! Everyone there has used up their unemployment benefits last year. They aren't getting to work this year. Most employees were hanging on there due to insurance...now that is being taken away. When families are losing their homes, their cars and everthing else they have...how can it get worse???
How do you look your children in the eye and tell them that Santa isn't coming because you cant even get a LOAN because you work on day a week or month?? How can it get worse??? I am lucky and don't work there, but I have many friends that do. Do you have no compassion for fellow human beings? Shame on you! Shame on Mr. Justice! I hope each and every employee walks out of there...they have nothing to stay for. At one time you could be proud to work at the Greenbrier. Now, they are just playing employees as fools.
No, I do not work at the greenbrier but my husband does and he is getting maybe 20 hours per week, if that. I am not ashamed of what I said. Jim Justice is trying to rebuild what others have torn down prior to him taking over. It is not his fault everyone was on unemployment last year, so don't blame him. I am glad he came on board and called back the employees. He did so just in time too. Otherwise, my husband's unemployment would of ran out. AND, he also bridged the insurance to carry on until January 2010.

Mr. Justice is atleast trying to rebuild the greenbrier so employees do get hours. Again, he is working to repair the damage done by others. Unlike others, I do not bite the hand that is trying to feed me. I feel he is doing everything he possible can and he has done everything he possible can.

And as far as my kids looking me in the eye at Christmas and telling them that Santa isn't coming this year because I get a loan. I tell them Mommy is working 4 part time jobs and daddy is working everywhere he can too. That Santa may not bring them everything they want, but Santa will bring them something.

Quit blaming someone that is trying to atleast help. Help yourself and don't expect someone else to do that for you!

My husband works there too. I work outside the home and we own our business. We are lucky as far as money is concerned. I do feel like the employees are being treated poorly. Many are on the edge of ruin. Just because You and your Husband are mental robots and beleive everything you are told doesn't mean that the people on here are wrong to voice there opinions. Keep falling under the spell of fast talkers and you will be in a world of shit!

Jim is a very generous soul who is just doing the best he can. If it wernt for him who knows what mariot would have done with the place. Once that casino opens the greenbrier will be a rockin place to work.

If Justice is so "generous" as you put it, why don't you talk to some of the car dealers in Beckley and they will tell you horror stories about how generous he is. Ask them how long it took them to get their money for some vehicles he purchased for one of his mining business. Generous my ass.

The christmas decorations were tacky to say the least. The only thing that looked nice were the pillars to the entrance to the shops and the spring house.

If everyone believes that Jim Justice is so "generous", than they should go and talk with current and former employees of his other businesses. The employees of the Hotel seems to have some negitive comments about how "generous" he is as well. You people that have no connection with him only knows him by word of mouth or maybe in a brief meeting. You have no clue to what it's like to be an employee of his.

The guest loved them, regardless what anybody else thinks. they were there for the guests. I am around the guests and they did like them and said that their kids enjoyed them. The guests are the ones paying to stay up there not us, so it is not our concern although everyone has a right to there opinion.

Back to what someone already said on page one of this thread.

The hotel (JJ) needs to pay their bills. There are a lot of vendors who have been waiting for months on end to get paid for services already rendered many months ago - whether it be for supplies, services or construction.
It's bad enough when they hold back on things ordered for hotel consumption, but when corporate clients ask that everything be billed to their master account and the hotel holds onto the money that rightfully belongs to the vendors, that's worse. It's thievery. It's not their money.

Sick and Tired, this is typical of Mr. Justice. I am always shocked to hear everyone sing his virtues. When he sold several coal mines to a Russian corporation, they had to assume a couple million dollars in debt because he hadn't paid it. Yes, all businesses have debt BUT he was notorious for NOT paying vendors, contractors and area businesses. Several of his mine operations couldn't buy things on credit because the vendors were afraid of not getting paid and demanded cash only. He was also downright deceitful to the miners who had worked for him for years. He knew there were rumors of the mine being sold and the workers were afraid of losing their jobs and he waited until just a DAY before the official annoucement that he had sold the company and that, hopefully, all of them would keep their jobs. Some of us don't see him as such a saint...........

JJ has a degree in marketing - and I'll bet it's from the P.T. Barnum school of smoke, mirrors and BS. It's very simple really: get a lot of happy talk on TV and printed in the newspapers. Get your picture taken with the governor. Talk a lot about all the jobs you're going to create for the local community. Most everybody will buy into the myth that you're the greatest guy in the world. That doesn't mean you actually have to follow through with any of it. Neither the media nor the politicians are going to say anything bad about him. They're bought and paid for. Those are probably the ONLY bills he pays promptly.

I'll tell you what: he can buy all the rosy press releases he wants, but those of us who have been on the receiving end of his "generosity" have a helluva lot more realistic picture of how he and his management team operates. It's pretty bad when you have to wait for months and threaten legal action in order to get what's yours.

JJ drives people into bankruptcy by not paying for what he ordered, yet keeps playing Monopoly™- buying up buying up Glade Springs, building a train and adding new coal operations to his holdings? Generous my ass!
