How did he get out so far? I worked with someone who walked in front of a car that was quickly followed by a semi. The woman driving the car swerved in time, the trailer had no room on the exit to avoid him. How awful to be the person behind the wheel. http://suicidehotlines.com/

I know that area. Dark, curvy and hilly. Easy place if you were crossing to misjudge an oncoming vehicle.

Very sad for him and his family.

Why in the heck would someone be crossing in the first place? Pleeeeezzz. If someone has been crossing the interstate on foot day or night, it would be just plain stupidity...

Unless your car has broken down, or you've been injured and you are trying to get help....there are reasons. I think there is a reason he was there.

I choose to reserve judgment.

For what??? Nobody is criminally, much less civilly liable for anything. This is obviously a very bizarre accident.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Boy. I bet was an instant killing. Tractor trailer truck going 75 mph vs. disoriented soul on an Interstate at night. Clever wording in the story about no drugs etc. being involved. Bet there's no follow-up to this little tragedy.

There was a vehicle located, it was not in the immediate area. I believe it was about 15 or 20 miles north of the tragedy.
just wondering

Or suicide by truck - that's not unheard of.

Or maybe it was the whiskey (and/or or other recreational drug(s)) talking and telling him to play on the road. That's not unheard of either.

Or maybe he wasn't on his prescribed anti psychotic medication. Again, an "accidental" death because of that is not unknown. It'd be a real shame if that was the case because he couldn't afford it.
