Yes the Mayberry Attitude has hurt Greenville along with the Snobbish,Racial Attitudes. You have the residents that have lived here since the beginning of time and like it that way.(Snobbish)then you have the local rednecks that think tearing the sleeves off a shirt makes them in style.What a waste.Then you have the Crack dealers,Dope Heads,that cause even more problems.
If you are of a differnet color you have amark against you,even if you have a degree.If you or White no degree is needed,just a Good Ole Boy attitude,and you got the job. Yes MayBerry might be a better place,but I was thinking if I ever saw any Afican Americans on that program..

Leroy, you just describe every other place in the world too. It's not just Greenville. Maybe you need to get out more. And as far as race, last time I checked you have the freedom to worship however you wish. If you're black and wanna go to a white church then go! It's not just white people segregating themselves from black people. Black people segregate themselves from white people too. I get so tired of the race card getting played. And what's everyone got against Mayberry anyway? Seemed like a nice place to live if you ask me.

Leroy, I have been to several different post and you always want to play the race card. I can tell you, YOU NEED A LIFE. Yes, racism was apparent years ago, but MOST have moved past that.
I am tired of people blaming their problems on their color, be it white or black. We are all Americans trying to make it. Face it the economy sucks. You are not the only one having problems. After reading all your post, PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON THERE IS SO MANY RACIAL PROBLEMS TODAY. Move on. i tell you what at my church and i'm not going to say what it is but we will let anyone come in to visit cause we have had different colored people come before and everytime they walked in those doors of our church someone was there to talk to them and tell them they are glad to see them at our church but yeah alot of churches out there seem to not care

I have found most people from Small Town USA such as Greenville has the same problems,the race card was not the issue,the issue is of faith,when you say people say we have blacks going to our church that we are open to all colors it is a form of playing the race card.Since I have to spell it out for you,when you go to church,do you look at that person of color? Or do you look at him or her as just another person wanting a place to worship?
As for the crack dealers both Blacks and Whites sell it on the streets. The kids that have there pants hanging down below there knees are also blacks and whites. But you hardly ever see a Afician American walking around with his sleeves torn off walking around showing off a tattoo.You will never see a Afican American having a Reb Flag Posted on his or hers front porch,car,trucks.As for name calling I have not said anything.When people do this it is from being not aware of all issues,but just a few.

Look at the people on welfare in this county and check the status of white versus black. The fact is, nobody wants to work anymore... People complain the mexicans are getting all the work around here. Talk to the people that are hiring them... THEY WORK AND DON'T COMPLAIN AND ARE EXCITED TO BE DOING THE JOB THEY ARE HIRED TO DO. I am very qualified at what I do and I do see wrongs in the work place and I am not afraid to let people know.I am not scared of loosing my job because of it.I do want equality in the work place and in church not just looking at color but just as a person.So you do agree when you say I have a lot of white friends and they are nothing like me,this I am glad.You have used the race card as showing that you have friends of a differnet color instead of looking at them just as friends. My main point is this. If people stopped looking at color and start looking at that person as another human being then the so called race card would never be a issue. It is like I have a friend over and someone comes in I say hey meet my friend instead of my brother.

That definitely does NOT describe every other place in the world-I've lived all over-and Muhlenberg County is by far one of the worst when it comes to what Leroy is talking about.
