Lol. They need to make a Giant Eagle Express. At least this is going to bring in jobs. It seems that every business on or near that site seems to fail. Maybe they should put one across the new ramp downtown.

Exactly. It is great to have a new business in town but I think that parcel would have been better as a restaurant. I have heard that Brewster had one blocked there because he didn't have enough Jersey barriers to keep the customers blocked out and captive a Tiger Town.

I read that he was just sworn is as Senator the other day and that he'll officially tender his resignation for the mayoral position at the December council meeting. I assume that they'll announce the person to fulfill the remainder of his term at the same time.

I was hoping for a Harris-Teeter -- much better selection and "different" stuff....My second guess was Food Lion.

Who cares who brought the business here, if they are moving into the city that is good for the entire city.

I couldn't care less if Giant Eagle closes a McKeesport location due to the competition. They've been concentrating on upgrading their Ohio stores and you can't believe the difference. The ones around here look ancient with a $h!t selection by comparison.

Because he is not taking a city check for being mayor.

Thank You...Someone with some brains... This is very good for the city, and it's a start. This is a great location and this is what you want - competition. It's great that it is near Giant Eagle, and Shop N Save, and Save A Lot, for that fact. I am so thankful that we're not getting another check cashing joint, or a Rent A Center or another welfare office. Lets get away from the crap that caters to the welfare mentality, as they are the ones ruining this city. If I was in charge at this store, or that company, whatever the store is, there is one thing that I would do to control the crowd and to keep out the riff-raff... I would not accept the Access Card. Seriously- you will thin the herd drastically and have a much better clientele.

I knew it would not take very long for the city bashers, the negative folks to start their crap. We need to concentrate on making the place better, and these bashers aren't helping much.

Take a breath, Eddie. Brewster has always acted like he's doing us unworthy city residents a favor by bringing in business. Je$u$ Chr*$t Almighty, it was his F-N JOB! What was he doing all the years he was on council? Please enumerate for me all those businesses that are still here.

Do you have any idea how this works? Do you honestly think Brewster or the Fifth Beatle chase these people? These business people do RESEARCH and see that Giant Eagle, Shop & Save, etc., have no competition and they're willing to get a share of that market.

They're not sitting in a balmy southern clime and swooning, "Oh look! McKeesport! Why that's God's Country, isn't it? Is it possible to open a store in that lovely place?"

McKeesport's a line on a balance sheet. I'm glad there coming, too, but Brewster went against his usual practice this time: He LET them come.

Yes- I actually do know how the process works..... And, to boot, who really cares how it's decided, or even who decided, how this store is coming here? Does it really matter in the scheme of things? Does it? Is that really important?

I'm just happy that something positive is happening.

So, this is very good for the city and will provide competition.

Hey people, there are only so many dollars out there. Mckeesport isn't a goldmine that can support 4 grocery stores in what, a mile and a half or two. So guess what happens? One, or maybe two stores go out of business within 2 years. If it's one or quite possibly both Olympia grocery stores, guess what happens next? The decline of Olympia as stores pull out because of the lack of strong anchors. In 4 or 5 years it will be nothing more than an Eastland Mall in it's final years. Do you think the other retail stores and fast food places in there are going to hang around with no grocery store anchors? Olympia is only hanging on right now because of the grocery stores in there.

Yeah, more competition for a maybe a year and then back to no competition forever. This is bad for the city. It's not what McKeesport needs right now in that location.
STATE LAW

Pittsburgh, PA

#17 Nov 20, 2010
Jim Brewster is retarded, first off it is a well known law that he cannot be both and functioning as mayor at the same time is a law breaking experience liability. Certainly, if he does something as numb as take any action against anyone as mayor he can be sued and complaints filed in a court of law that he did such action as mayor citing that he is a state senator. It is simply against the law to hold mayoral position and state senator at the same time at once.

That grocery store arriving is getting ripped off, but the customers will save more from competition. Mckeesport is the only city nationwide to lose several well known stores such as Arby's, Burger king, a McDonalds in Mckeesport. Olympia is not Mckeesport even though some like to call it that, the downtown Mckeesport McDonalds is long gone! Everyone enjoying that multi-million dollar court that had ground breaking the former cartoon mayor called Brewster brought here two years ago? As promised, right? Don't allow pride and ego to allow room for broken promises by Brewster. Rege got the shaft also, Paul Shelly truly cares about the city of Mckeesport regardless of any opinions. Sincerity is the best quality to begin a foundation for a city.

When is Eddie and Brewster getting married? Or, is that just Brewster on here pretending to be Eddie again in love with himself?

Either way Mckeesport is on a large ACCESS card simply because all tax payers nationwide are paying for a multi-million dollar ramp to go to no worthy business area. Mckeesport gets most money from the government, that is ACCESS in a different form, but a lot more people pay for it. It's simply ok to use other people money to make a ramp to a more than likely shale process. What happened to the Wal-Mart or Court building coming among other places promised but never materialized? All people are ok to use government programs if they hold a title and not be nopted as riff raff. They are riff-raff to the society of this country simply because they own most of Mckeesport through mis-use and abuse of government money. Are you not aware that what you call riff-raff are here because of the mayors support of welfare programs within Mckeesport? He is chairman of the HOUSING board that moves those you call riff-raff around Eddie. When is the invaluable first kiss coming for welfare that simply bails out Mckeesport continually Ed? Ed who by the way, Brewster?

Marriage,

I am thankful that I have the nads to use my name, my given name, and also for the fact that I don't have to hide behind a monitor with some made up name. Tell me, what in heaven's name are you talking about?

I will tell you that I pretty much hate every social program out there. I can't stand welfare trash. I can't stand these lazy asses with 5-6 kids to 5-6 different women, who sleep all day and stay out all night. They are thugs and scumbags. I also can't stand criminals, thugs, pigs who trash their neighborhoods, people who abuse the system, people who park in handicapped spots who aren't handicapped, people who don't stop at red lights/stop signs, people who don't cut their grass, and I can't stand people who don't look out for their elderly neighbors.

Marriage, if you fall in to one of the above mentioned categories, which I suspect you will, then God Bless you.

Marriage, do you have vision? Vision for the important things in life? Not vision for another Stanley Cup, or another Super Bowl. Do you think back to the Pirates of yesteryear? Do you get your rocks off thinking about Maz hitting that homer in the series many years ago? Get out of the past, and think to the future- beyond the future.

This city needs positive people, positive leaders, positive residents. I little development like this may spark something, and I hope it does.

Oh, by the way, please patronize Tiger Town and help in supporting my family.

State Senator & Mayor James Brewster
