we'd all be better off if we outgrew the "real world" and settled that to that type of life

Long live Woodstock. May the legend never die. People today should be so lucky to be able to attend such a function. Peaceful, full of music, everyone getting along. Here's to 1969. Those were the good ole days.

NOT all of them. Most of them overdosed and died. My buddy Jimmy's brain is gone and he still gathers shopping carts at Acme once in a while for some money.

--In 1969, Plimpton was 20 and had a summer job at a Howard Johnson's restaurant. She went in on Friday, quit her job and hitchhiked to the festival with her boyfriend, Bobby.--

This is exactly what hippies (self proclaimed Flower Children) did, they didn't like to work, slept on each other's floors or in their vans, and laid around stoned all the time on weed, LSD or heroin listening to just blaring music with no words !!

Jealous? It was a rock 'n roll hall of fame celebration before the rock 'n roll hall of fame was a thought in anyone's mind. It was a rebellion against the "establishment" and their button down ways, prejudicial politics and puritanical attitudes. It was a signature moment for a generation that wanted an end to war based on acquisitions. It was an idealist event, an expression of disgust with the powerful immoral, unethical ruling class and the policies of the times.
Too bad that so many idealists sold out to the establishment. That's one reason that the world is as funked up as it is today. LONG LIVE WOODSTOCK AND IT'S IDEALS!!

A great little internet radio station is celebrating the fortieth anniversary with non-stop music.

Woodstock69 is on the air. Relive your spent youth while soaking in the sound.

hippies were/are out of step with reality. living in a dream world. their reality was drugs, laziness, stupidity and music conquers all. what a joke on them......
what medical school encouraged those values? what resume were they listed on? what police force encourages them? what military unit encourages them? just losers looking for the easy way out..........

Actually what it explains is that these people who are now in Congress did not attend.

Woodstock had it's time and is a nice memory. There were also other things that went out no one wants to admit. All the stupid people laws have made it harder and harder to enjoy a concert. You treat people like animals, they act like it, it'a no brainer, look at our schools and jail systems, sadly almost one in the same with corraling them like cattle. The true hippie died out in the seventies. True hippies didn't want Government mandate, they didn't believe in abortion and most believed in living as self sufficient persons henceforth communes. Today it's a bunch of extreme, 1/2 informed people parading in a false facade. Where is the love now?

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Leo

Why are you still fighting, Leo? Everyone else went home a long time ago, but you're still here pounding your fists on the table. Although you don't want to admit it, accepting defeat may be your most practical option at this point. Sometimes it's just easier to move on than to keep up the fight. When you're forced to restructure, at least you have a chance to redefine. YouÕl get the opportunity to start with a clean slate, so use it to your advantage.
