Automotive authority in Jarrettsville ''corner of 146 & 23 is a ripoff artist. They advertise in the Bargaineer for frontend alignments for 49$, they get your car in the shop and dont do anything and then tell you they can bring it back in later because it needs something else. Most mechanics can diagnose problems the 1st time, nothing but bait and switch. THEY LOST THEIR LICENSE TO INSPECT VEHICLES TODAY IF THAT SAYS ANYTHING TO CONSUMERS. BTW the owner just uses the business to shill his auction cars he has all over the lot. Drive by on a cold morning and all their hoods are up being jumpstarted. STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY.

Do not buy a car from this dealer! I bought my 2001 Pontiac grand am from here I told the guy I was a student and did not have a lot of money to be spending on a car but due to Sandy I had to because my old car was totaled. I was made aware of there 30 day 1000 mile warranty and was fine with it. I found my Pontiac and fell in love with it. The ad off of craigslist said the car was in GREAT CONDITION only 102.000 miles on it so not to bad the only problem that was listed in the car fax was that it had been hit in the rear but the problem was fixed and nothing was wrong. I then took it for a test drive the roads are all smooth around there so you can not tell how the car really handles the road. I took the car home gave Emerdson 1,500 dollars down and my loan was about 3700.00 dollars. in 15 days i found myself back at his shop for a rattle in the back of the car and when i made a left turn there was a rubbing/grinding sound. I took the car in and they sent out a tech to do a test drive with me we spent maybe a hour on the test drive trying to find a road with bumps and a sharp turn so I could show him I was told Grand AM's have a moving axle in the front and they sway. When we got back the tech told Emerdson what he heard and told him he could not be sure unless he looked at it but its drive able I was then told well if its drive able it didn't need to be worked on and told me i was fine to go. 2 weeks after my 30 days the car broke down i found out that the alternator had went bad. I understand these things happen called them to see if maybe they could help no such luck. I work in Dundalk as a manager so I needed a GREAT car like that ad said. Then two weeks later I went to Annapolis to help a friend out and the car broke down again we got it started i took it to Pepboys again and the battery, alternator, and started where running fine I couldn't figure out what it was. Called Automotive authority and they said if I brought it to them they would do a free diagnostic on the car but I had to call and make an appointment getting the car up and running I got the car home the next day I went to work going on a bank run I went to start the car and it would not turn over all the way I had to call a tow this was 60 days that I have had the car took it to a shop in Dundalk because that's where I work and broke down. I was ready for something stupid and small to be the problem but what happened next I was unprepared for. I get a call the next morning telling me the WHOLE fuel system was shot the fuel pump, line, filter (that looked like it had not been changed from day 1), and the relay all bad the repair was going to be $900 plus dollars thank god for my extended warranty I have threw another company I only had to pay a few hundred dollars.. I called to talk to Emerdson and yet again he was not in his office I left a message for him to call me back this was around 9am I went to lunch at 10am and tried again the phones kept ringing and ringing and ringing so I called there sales line and what do you know he picked up so he must have been there but I was not his top worry When I got a hold of him he reminded me that it was well past my 30 days I then informed him that it was all linked to the noise in the back of my car and if he would have let his tech take a look he would have found it. We went back and forth for about a hour telling me that I did this to that car and it was a 2001 uses car it was not going to be in GREAT CONDITION I informed him his ad when I bought the car said GREAT CONDITION and there was no way I could screw up a whole fuel system in a matter of 2 months so the car he sold me was a POS he then got very rude was very unreasonable and unprofessional. I have only made my first payment on this car and it breaks down 3 times on me I paid 1500 cash and now i have a 3667.00 loan on it and now bout $1000 in repairs and the most they would do was a $80.00 free diagnostic I feel as if I had gotten ripped off

The vehicle I bought there was inspected by Madonna Auto Sales and Service down the street from Automotive Authority. I don't think Automotive Authority does their own inspections.
