I am shocked that this is going on in our community. Great job to all officers involved in catching him. Please keep all children safe

That's his blog. The kid needs some serious help. Sounds like he has for a while. I don't think he intended to kill himself. I think he just wanted attention. He's gonna get it now! And not the kid he wants, I'm sure.

This kind of behavior can't be tolerated. That kid caused huge problems for 2 counties and thousands of people. I hope they throw the book at him.

My heart breaks for this young man. How sad is it that he has had these feeling and not 1 teacher or adult around him could see his hurt or pain and reach out to him?? Maybe he wasn't going to kill himself but he was crying for help. When did this world and people's attitudes become so heartless and hateful? I actually feel sorry for YOU that a teenage child is hurting so bad and you are so hateful and uncaring. Maybe this is a good time to reflect and soul search on our parenting and caring skills!

I am shocked at the how many people are so very quick to judge. Yes, what this young man did was very wrong, and did cause a lot of problems. He is still a soul that is obviously in a lot of pain to do such a thing. Instead of judging, why not try praying for this young man, and his family. Things like this just don't "happen." There is always more to the story than we know, and do not need to.

That's because some of the people posting commenta on Topix are so immature, they don't know any better. I'm surprised we haven't seen a few of them making fun of the situation yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time though.

Part of the problem with these kids hurting today is because of their idiotic parents. Parents are worse then children anymore. Instead of parents teaching their children to behave and be respectful of others, they show them how to be rude and self centered. I was at a youth t-ball game recently and the parents were making fun of the other team's players. These kids are 5 and 6 years old!!! The so called parents were in their 30s and 40s. What a shame!

That kid has some serious issues. He needs professionals to snap him out of his "everything sucks, nobody cares, and the World is against me" attitude. No matter how messed up, or desperate your situation is currently, things have a way of working themselves out. Someone needs to show him that there are brighter days ahead for everybody.

I am his mom.s best friend and have known this boy since he was 2. His parents give him 100% love and attention and do everything possible to help him. Please don't write anything negative.

I never said throw him away. He needs to be held accountable for his actions. That includes getting mental health care and facing criminal charges. Not holding him responsible for his actions would be like throwing him away.

Parents need to be monitoring their kids social media accounts. He had been posting suicidal thoughts for months. No way they were giving him 100% of what he needed. Maybe 100% of what he wanted, but not what he needed.

I would never write anything negative. Like I said earlier, there is always more to something than anyone knows (or thinks they know). My heart and prayers go out to him, and his family and friends. This world is a difficult place, and we all lose our way sometimes. God can bring healing and peace to this situation. People will have their "opinions," but that is all that they are. My son is 17, and it could very easily have been him instead.

Why didn't 'God' bring healing and peace to the situation months ago so it wouldn't have come to this?

Why do you judge that God wasn't involved? I choose to beleive that He was totally involved in that no one was hurt and this young man can get help to get better. Don't be so quick to attack God for a situation that he knows far more about than you.
