haha! my Ma' and I actually drove by that house everyday until finally on a whim we decided to snoop around in it. we didn't plan to go inside until pulling up around the house to see that there is a stone three-season room in the back and a doorway wide open. the house looks as decreptid and spooky as is does on the outside and the smell is pretty nasty. like mold and the inside of your grandmother's purse. obviously some kids had been there before us by the evidence of beer bottles, grafitti and an old, soiled mattress in the living room. My Ma' was just so awestruck that such a beatiful house with so many memories could have fallen into such a state. papers and old china cups litter the floor and on the second floor of the house i even found a finishing school deploma belonging to an 'Iris someone'(i couldn't make out the last name but it was dated in 1921)from an Elgin women's college or another. The bathroom had one of those handicap railings for the tub and toilet so it's safe to asume maybe that was Iris' bathroom. i also found an old credit card belonging to a man with the same last name as that on the mailbox outside (maybe the last owner/heir?). Ma' found upstairs in the attic/loft a man's dinner jacket and a women's petticoat in a giant wardrobe and told her to get down before the floor collapsed.

that old house used to be something in it's day, what really saddened us was all the open and desecrated memories the family had discarded. we left everything as it was and didn't take anything with us, Ma and I had an adventure on Manchester road that evening.

Yes the same thing happend to mu husband. I had been very curious about it and one day I pulled in
the driveway. We had only intended to look around the outside then my husband had disappeared, and
called me from the inside of the house. We did not even go upstairs. But you could tell at one time long ago this was a beautiful home. It made us feel very sad. I don't understand how a family could leave all lthose personal things behind, like no one cared for these people. We called the
reality company when we returned home to inquire
if they were aware the home was open. Thye said the house was going to be demolished that week. That was 3 weeks ago and I noticed as of yesterday it was still standing.

Yes same thing happened with my husband & I. We really had no intension of going in just wound up
pulling in becausr I found myself unnaturally drawn to this house each time I passed it. We pulled in the driveway, and were just walking around the property when I heard my husband callingme form inside the house. We didn't go farther than the dining room.We did call the realator when we returned home to make sure that they were aware the home was open. The realator said that the home was being demolished within the week. That was 3 weeks ago. I noticed yesterday it is still standing. I am still haunted by that house and its very sad that noone seemed to care about these people or their property.

I live right by the house, the house was in good shape. then the lady died, and her family didnt take care of it for years and eventually kids broke in and trashed it. The family wanted to demolish it, the property is for sale for over a million dollers right now.

318 Summit Drive Winfield IL :

A man used to live at this residence in the 60's with his asmatic daughter and his doberman. The daughter was very sick and the man did everything he could to make the house livable for her. All hard floors, no carpets, a special air conditioner/filter installed in her bedroom wall. He even had a beautiful picture window put into her bedroom looking out on to the large backyard.

The daughter died in that house in the early 70's and soon after the doberman died as well. The man buried the doberman in the center of the huge backyard and placed two concrete slabs over the spot.(Those slabs are gone now.)

The man then sold the house and everyone who has owned it ever since has had strange stories to tell about hearing wandering footsteps inside the home and a dark faced dog looking in the daughters picture window from the backyard.
