Hostage situation ongoing in Bloomingdale

A man is holding a woman hostage in a Bloomingdale apartment complex, and police believe he may have a gun.

I was there because one of the officers is my friend, and plus i know alot of people who live there. Anyways, the guy held his girl hostage for 6hrs on his second four apartment.Thank God the girl came out alive after the gunmen accidentally shot himself WTF!!!! There was ABC7 news, swat teams, bloomingdale, Glendale hts, Addison, Roselle, and other police force.The swat team was on top of the roof too. This world is becoming real scary and all we can do is pray and live our life each day. All this violence is not only happening at night but in the day time now. Be Careful who you trust people. God Bless America

my brother start having mental problems last week and just snapped. he has never harmed a hair on anyones head.he need me to get him help but it was to late. thats the real storie. plz check into stuff before you post a thinkless qoute. this is the mans brother and i was there. i miss him. he needed help not a bullet
again my brother wasnt a killer, he was one of the nicest men i know period. check out his record and you tell me.My brother just went insane mentally and didnt know how to handle the situation. and it just cascaded and got out of hand. he was shooting in the air so thats why the swat team didint kill him he wasnt aiming at anyone but himself

Hope he gets the help he needs fast. My advice talk to a pastor and pray for your brother. Ask God to forgive him and trust the Lord! That's all you can do- none of the medication, counselor crap ain't going to help. The Lord is his counselor.

Ellis, was the sweetest person u would ever no. He was very helpful and a wonderful father. Something was wrong with him, that was not the man I feel in love with and had kids with. He wouldn't hurt anyone if he was n the right frame of mind. Don't judge am not mad @ what happen am glad GOD spared my life and wished the end resulted didn't take place with Ellis. He didn't deserve to be taken from us and his four beautiful children.

I am sorry this happened, sorry for your loss. You mentioned he had snapped mentally and you were trying to get him help. The state used to have a much larger mental health department but it was cut to save money. The problem is they cut too far. Now, in a serious situation of sudden mental breakdown, family members find that no help is available.

I was there also. I live in one of the other building right across from the incident. The police officers were very nice and helpful. It was a very scary situation. There was families with children waiting outside to get back into their apartments.
I came home from shopping and found all of these police and swat team at one of our buildings. Around 7:45 I walked close to the side of the building in question and heard the shootings and saw the swat team shooting back at the individual. We ran fast as we could back to the parking lot. I hope we never have to be put in this situation ever again. Why don't these people seek help when they start not feeling good, then other innocent people do not have to go through this. And I just could not imagine the expense it cost the town for the police and swat men to be there. And not to mention the inconvience it made to people driving in the traffic. I am sure the management and owners of the wilshire towers are very upset over this. But no one else was hurt they should of had a bus shuttle to get residents out somewhere else to wait.

I live in wilshire apartments as well for 6 yrs. I saw everything because i had to be evacuated out of the building where the guy took his girlfriend hostage. I never saw anything like it before it worries me of what kinds of people are moving into these quiet suburbs. The man didn't give up for 6 hrs and finally I saw the swat teams shooting at the guy through the second floor window because the guy started shooting randomly inside. The lady escaped but the guy was sent to GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Hts where he was pronounced dead that night. What a tragedy a 31 yr old man couldn't even control his emotions and let the devil take over him. That makes me sick- I don't care if he was not mentally stable it gives him no right to do that. What a low life scumbag!! He could of hurt alot of people and took the life of his girlfriend! there is consequences with your actions huh. At least we don't have to worry about it occurring again, I feel bad for the lady who he held hostage knowing that she has to deal with this for the rest of her life. Sad :(
