I dated her for sometime when we were kids in high school and the first year of college. I never met a woman who seemed to persevere like she could. She went though some incredible abuse as a kid. Despite that, she did not turn bitter. She did not abuse anything. She always had this incredibly naive and innocent take on the entire world. Moreover, the woman was so full of love. I miss her. I had not seen her in many years. However, I never met a woman like her. I never forgot her, and now I wish I had reached out to tell her how truly remarkable she was to me. She truly truly was a treasure.

Kari Cornett
Kari Cornett, 40, of Big Pine Key, Fla., went to a better place on May 10. Born Aug. 16, 1967, in Wheat Ridge, she grew up in Fort Collins and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1985.
Kari was a wild and crazy lady who loved to talk and talk and talk. Being in the service of business all of her adult life, she seemed to be on stage and make everyone around her laugh. She made a friend of everyone and stayed in contact with her friends from high school.
Although she had been living in the Florida Keys for several years, she loved her Rocky Mountains, missed the snow and was a diehard Bronco fan.
Kari's positive attitude, optimism and independence were always prevalent but even more admirable the past year and a half..
She is Survived by her mother, Dede Dillon of Greeley; father, Lloyd Cornett of Granby; brother, Keith Cornett of Greeley; aunts and uncles, Bruce and Chris Dreith of Woodland, Calif., Doug and Kathy Durica and Bob and Rene' Dillon; cousins, Derek Durica, Luke Dillon and Logan Dillon, all of Fort Collins.
Contributions may be made in Kari's name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
Kari will be missed , rest in peace my friend.

Eric,
Kari wanted to contact you when she was sick and could not find you. I tried some things after she passed away and could not find you either. I am glad you know that she passed away. Kari always thought the world of you and respected the path you took in your career, she followed your life through friends 'back home'.
Kari quickly became my friend in college and remained one of my dearest friends until she passed away. She was the other side of me, the crazy say whatever, live life to the fullest side. She had a pretty awesome attitude to the end.

Eric I remember you very well. It is my hope your time spent in Montana treated you well...Kari spoke of your caring, kindness and gentle ways toward her and always wondered what if.....Kari's premature passing created a very large hole in my heart. She truly was a treasure, full of life and I will cherish the memories of her all the days of my remaining life. Eric there are a couple of very private things I would like to speak with you about. At your convenience will you please call my home.....if you find this uncomfortable I will understand.

Eric I am sorry I have mistaken you for another. Your comments, however, have touched and consoled me for their sincerity. I would still very much like to have a conversation with you.......

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
