Actually, I think the real world is that scary and more so. We, the general public, only hear about a fraction of what takes place every night/day. Does anyone remember the famous "Guardian Angels"? I wonder how long or what it is going to take for the public, the good, productive part of society to start taking protection into thier own hands. Not vigilante, but pro-active protection.

I think that very situation might not be all that far off. That is how people are thinking and feeling already. It's only a matter of time before they act on it. Especially when we get an ever decreasing amount of action/support from where we're supposed to be getting it from.
