Arrest made in Silk City Tap Murder

Police arrested 26 year-old James Duffy Jr. of Haydenville today in connection with the death of John Connell.

I pray that justice will prevail and will show that Jim Duffy is innocent of the crime he is being charged. What happened was a tragedy, but I know that man did not die because of Jim Duffy. I stand by Jim and his family 100%. For all of you that want to talk shit and run your mouths I urge you to use your energy to do something positive perhaps a scholarship in John's name or a trust for his children. As I have said before let he who has not sinned cast the first stone....

I never threw a punch that caused a man to fall downstairs hit his head and DIE.
I agree with a trust for the VICTIMS children. sad all the way around for everyone...hopefully time will rehabilitate....

If you have read the obits, you would have seen that there is a trust for the kids. Why doesnt everyone remove there heads from you know where and donate. If everyone cared so much they would in stead of trying throw crap back at each other. Both families have been civil why don't we all follow their example and do the same.

I've got my own kids to take care of, thanks. In a related story, I don't frequent bars with dimwitted country bumpkins looking to punch others in the head just for the fun of it. I"m home, taking care of them. A friend can go screw, and lgg obviously knows the real story behind the suspect. Sorry for his family and especially his kids, but as a parent, you have to leave your past behind and grow up, sooner than later. Out.

fyi, there is video surveillance of the altercation outside the bar. duffy pushed him. he didn't mean to kill john, but it happened. my heart goes out to both families.

Denial, denial, denial. He is guilty of manslaughter,voluntary or not. Anytime you punch or kick someone you take the risk they could die, intentional or not. He isn'tmuch of a parent if he was at a bar drinking instead of home with his family.

Your right Duffy isn't much of a parent because he doesn't have any children. John was the one at a bar drinking insted of being home with his family....

Okay, here's to everyone! Yes this was a tragedy! But everyone needs to be open minded and look at all aspects of this situation! I know both of these men, and it is very sad that Connell is dead don't get me wrong! Although, it was he who had started this in the first place... haven't you all read the news? I heard that Connell was kicked out of a few bars for being, drunk and rowdy before even going to silk city. I think that it was the bars responsibility wherever he was to escort him out and call the police, because obviously he was too drunk to drive. You are all talking smack about Jim Duffy being rowdy this and that, but John was just as much to blame. I DO feel sorry for his family and such because of this, but I'm looking both ways here. I DO have a very good heart. Maybe Duffy does get into fights, but not as often as people are making it seem. Honestly out of all you people who go to Bars how many bar fights do you see? Hence the reason i don't go to bars often. I've known Duff for a while. He is a great guy, but if you do mess with him then you are going to get on his bad side,but isn't it like that for a lot of people? This is hard on johns family and friends, believe me i get it, but it's hard on Duffy and his family as well. Duffy didn't mean for this to happen, it was a freak accident and i don't think he should do time for this. I think living with this for the rest of his life is good enough! Think about any fight you have ever gotten in if you have, and think about this happening, how would you feel? how would you live your life? jim duffy has a heart of gold, i know him from duffy tire he put my family safty first, not the money that most people do. thank you mr. duffy jr. good luck i know you didn't mean to hurt any one.
