When will our elected officials take our cities budget problems seriously, and stop hiring public works employees that can be fired and then rehired by a private comany (if they are worth a darn). This will improve serice to the taxpayers and reduce costs to the city.

That will happen when you get elected officials worth a damn. They are giving a $20,000 raise of our taxpayer dollars after two months. And what has he done, but take credit for beans? No new business, and the plan to raise water bills will cost us even more. The ignorant elected officials would have been better off hiring a real manager for $80,000 and not playing these games with our money.

A large percentage of city/county workers are criminals and the city knows this. How long before something bad happens and the taxpayers are held liable. Extensive background checks and random drug testing needs to happen, now before it's to late.

Govt's. on any level are never going to "save" money.

They will simply find another place to spend it.

Example- when the state lottery began, all the money previously "saved" when lottery money was used to operate schools just seemed to evaporate into other avenues of waste.

If a little money is saved going private, taxpayers will never feel the difference, crats will find another way to spend it- you can't win.

privatize the wholeshebang, if sunland went private, whomever bought it, along with the nursing homes, hospital, would have to pay a fair and equitable raise in order to have good staffing, privatize the pd dispatchers, fire rescue, and you would see some changes. I bet if anyone asked a state worker if they would rather make more money, but accrue time off differently, they would go for it. The ones that wont are just the cry babies that deserve a pick slip anyways. But it is harder than all heck to get rid of a sad state worker, if theplaces were ran private, it would be work or be gone.

The school board is going to privatize transportation the same way they privatized food service. NOW its up to the city to follow suit and privatize ALL local government services.
