Yair Lapid taught me that if you will it, you can shape reality with your will. I say we take these elections by storm, I also go out and make it so.(remember, we talked about this once, about beliefs shaping reality).
I am currently part of the party's e-mail response team, I'm also attending Yair Lapid's conventions almost every day with the other activists.
This new cycle of violence in Gaza indeed shuffles the cards for us, but we'll just have to work harder. We're the agents of change and we won't rest untill we bury the old politics, untill the go-getters, the wheeler-dealers are out of office. We won't let go until the current right-wing and ultra-orthodox coalition is unseated and the government is held once again by the moderates, by those who work for the better of all citizens and not just their sectorial interests or for the elites.
We are the under represented middle class, the political center whose majority was pushed aside by an alliance of margines, we are the moderate voice of these elections and we will not stand and watch as our future is slipping from between our fingers.
We have a future, its in our hands and so we grasp it tightly, this time we won't let go.
You live in dream world that thinks a "divorce" is acceptable for security? Kind of like Chamberlain's thinking before your people were almost wiped off the face of the earth. Snap out of it, kid. They want you dead. All of you. There's no bargaining with animals bent on destruction of the Jewish state and everybody in it. If there is no cease fire, you and your "middle class" aspirations, means diddly. Grab your rifle son, there are worst things to worry about.

“They used to enter houses and kill women and children indiscriminately”: Deir Yasin Massacre, 09.04.1948

http://avoicefrompalestine.wordpress.com/2010 ...“they-used-to-enter-houses- and -kill-women-and-children-indis criminately”-lest-we-forget-de ir-yasin-massacre-09-04-1948/# _ftn3

"A chilling account of the massacre is given by a Red Cross doctor (Deputy Inspector General Richard Catling, who arrived at the village on the second day and saw himself – the mopping up – as one of the terrorists put it to him.

He says that the “mopping up” had been done with machine guns, then grenades and finished off with knives.

Women’s bellies were cut open and babies were butchered in the hands of their helpless mothers.

Around 250 people were murdered in cold blood.

Of those 250 people, 25 pregnant women were bayoneted in their abdomens while still alive.

52 children were maimed under the eyes of their own mothers, and they were slain and their heads cut off.

Their mothers were in turn massacred and their bodies mutilated. About 60 other women and girls were also killed and their bodies mutilated.

British interrogating officer, Deputy Inspector General Richard Catling, confirmed that:

“The recording of statements is hampered also by the hysterical state of the women who often break down many times whilst the statement is being recorded.

There is, however, no doubt that many sexual atrocities were committed by the attacking Jews.

Many young schoolgirls were raped and later slaughtered. Old women were also molested.

One story is current concerning a case in which a young girl was literally torn in two.

Many infants were also butchered and killed...

Good luck in the election but if I were you I'd be careful with claims such as "we'll take these elections by storm". A lot of American pundits had egg on their faces the morning of November 7th.

What is winning? Our elections system is the relative model, not the 'winner takes it all' approach like in the U.S. As far as I am concerned winning is making a difference. If we get enough votes to put "Yesh Atid" in the coalition and force any prime minister to accomodate our expectations, that is a clear win.

Ahh yes, the "aim low" approach. You'll never disappoint yourself that way but I read a lot of chutzpah in your original claims for Yair. Now that I know you're realistic about it, I rescind my earlier comment about inserting caution into your tone. Give it hell!

Disbelief.

The wheels are turning...you can read it in his eyes. He sees that the vehicle of our demise will be our own constitution which protects this type of speech. The very freedoms we cherish will lead to our downfall.

Has anyone asked you lately if you think this escalation is Iran playing at slight of hand to divert attention from Syria?(or am I the first?) They're the only possible beneficiary I can think of.

How would that work? Hard to see why Hamas would be firing the rockets and taking the hits to aid Syria. Hamas has distanced itself from Hezblome and the Syrian regime. I read today that over 1000 rockets have been fired at Israel this year. These people are lunatics. Strange how this thread timelines the peace between the two.

It's amusing to see the news media say that this latest escalation is because the IDF took out a Hamas murderer. The 1000 rockets prior to that don't mean a thing to anyone but Israel. And the beat goes on.
