Corruption in Connecticut politics

They are the cases and the faces that earned us the nick name Corrupticut. Governor Rowland resigns, serves time in prison and mayors too; Waterbury's Philip Giordano, Bridgeport's Joe Ganim both remain behind bars. Full Story

Dude, if this is in family court, you have already lost and you will continue to lose. It has nothing to do with right or wrong, so drop that expectation.

These are just a few that got caught. Blumenthal is the biggest crook of all. How much of a hand did he have in with Rowland? Well, he signed ALL the contracts and said they were legal. Rowland got busted for a few goodies for his house but where did the $252,000,000.00 from those illegal contracts go? Sure didn't see "Dickie" going after it. Blumenthal also gove his ex partner $250,000,000.00 to some legal work for the state. Didn't we elect Blumenthal to do that work? I bet if you get the total money spent by the Attorney Generals office during Blumenthals tenure it would be enough to wipe out the entire state debt and leave us with at least $100,000,000.00 extra. Then there's the crooked road contracts....

I really have no idea if the state is treating you fairly, but I do know the state treats some men so brutally that they flip out and kill their ex's.(I'm not suggesting anyone do that!) But I've heard and read about many stories.

Many women get outrageous decisions that let them simply party for years, and they just stick their exhusbands with the bill. The husbands work full time and are left with a small fraction of income to live on, while the partying wife keeps the house, the kids, his future earnings, and the lifestyle. An ex-wife can petition the court at any time for more money, and guess who even has to pay for her lawyer? It's absurd.

You could try to contact a reporter named Gombossy, who used to work for the Hartford Courant.

There's also a reporter by the name of Greene who works for the Courant.
Sounds like your civil rights are being violated here perhaps. Contact the ACLU while you are at it.
Seems like whomever you contact now in the state of Connecticut about unethical public servants, no one will do a thing about it!
It is called corruption. Sad to see that this state has become this way.

What is also not right are people who think they have a right to start letting contractors operate heavy equipment like Chain Saws of all things in a crowded residential neighborhood at 7 am in the morning!
That's what a health care worker is letting people do on her property in Sunset Estates in East Hartford! She's letting a tree trimming service start operating extremely loud machinery on her property three times this week, waking everyone one, starting Sunday, Sept 11th of all days!

Like someone can sleep through the sound of a chainsaw?

To complain to anyone in the town office of East Hartford would probably be a waste of time, since like you mention yourself, John Payne, the public servants in many parts of this state, just don't seem to care about the citizen's welfare!

TO THE WOMAN IN SUNSET ESTATES in East Hartford, WHO INSISTS ON HAVING CONTRACTORS COME TO YOUR PROPERTY AND START USING EXTREMELY LOUD POWER EQUIPMENT extremely early in the morning, REALIZE THIS, you're violating your neighbors peace & quiet, not to mention, probably several noise ordinances and you could easily be fined!

I see someone judged our post as spam. It's not spam, it's true!
Anyway, the reporter's name is George Gombossy and he did a darn good job at The Hartford Courant. Unfortunately the Courant let him go, after he refused to write "nice things" about a major advertiser who was actually selling mattresses that were not in good condition, some of them had bedbugs in them, to customers.
Well, here we go again. Corruption is alive & well in Connecticut.

I tell you what John Payne. Maybe the best thing to do is to let people outside the state of CT know what's going on.
Just read an article about an anestethiologist who was hired in the state of CT after being convicted of what I think was a DUI, in the state of NY! It said that this state often hired medical personnel who were being investigated in other states for offenses which could cause them to lose their license!

Does this state sound safe to anyone? LOL. I know it doesn't sound safe to me.
Maybe the Feds need to come into this state and start doing lots of investigations in many towns in this state. Something sounds very wrong here.
You know, people are really having trouble getting by, in these tough economic times.

Spend of getting by, many people have to have two jobs, not just one to pay all their bills. To be woken up at 7 am in the morning by chainsaws or loud lawn mowers when you're trying to get a decent night's sleep is not only unpleasant, inconsiderate, but also putting people's health at risk.
If you don't get a good night's sleep, you're often not too functional throughout the day, and could easily make a mistake, especially behind the wheel of a car!

So, I'll say it again. Lady in the neighborhood of Sunset Estates, please stop having hired workers come over to your property and start operating heavy loud equipment chainsaws & heavy power equipment at the wee hours of the morning on your property please!

It could you be you who gets into a car accident because someone was so tired being woken up so early in the morning by your worker's chainsaws that they accidentally run into you when you're driving your car. I'm sure you don't want that to happen.
Nor do I think it's right to have someone else's life being put at risk either. That's not fair or safe. Please show some consideration for the noise ordinance laws.

It's not spam that George Gombossy was let go by the courant either.
Who's judging this post? The same woman who thinks it's her right to be able to wake up people in a crowded neighborhood at 7 am with chainsaws?

anyway... you can go google what I said about the doctor mentioned in the above post...
However they just passed a law in this state finally about that matter, thank god!

Sounds like you're getting the old "not my job" runaround by the state. This entire political group, every elected official and every appointed worker, is disgusting. ALL those that are responsible pawn off any reall work to another dept. who in turn does the same until you scream and give up. Ethics? I doubt anybody that has drawn a state paycheck can even spell the word. For years now the status quo has been to get elected or appointed and then help to rob the state in any way possible. There has been non-stop dumping for at least the last 15 years her from New York without a peep from ANY health dept. in the state. The DEP only seems to get bigger and do less. They have their own police force now and for what? To protect the dumpers and charge a fortune every time some poor citizen drops a quart of oil on the ground? Please, you didn't hear about any DEP cuts because that's the crooked politicians new toy. Oh, yes, DEEP. So now the same dept. that is supposed to watch the environment can now OK dumping toxic waste from power plants and raise the nuclear contamination levels. With Blumenthal to busy handing out money to all the lawyers in this state to do his work while we paid him to galavante around the country it's no wonder nobody wants to do state work, they all want a check for showing up. They're just following the leadership example they have been shown, so let's fire them all!!

well, it is SO typical of what kind of state Connecticut has become. It's tragic really! I don't know how long CT has been like this, but it seems it wasn't always this way...
But people's civil rights get violated all the time in this state. Did you hear on the news that Granby cop who ran over the 15 year old on a bike, and killed him, when he was driving drunk,(the cop was drunk, that is), now wants his JOB back??
Why is he not in jail? And he also wants $50,000 in back pay! I tell you what... and the cops make such a big deal out of things that are not even against the law!
It's called violating people's civil rights. They just came out with a news story about this black lady who's a legislature or politician in our state, and the state made a large mistake and didn't register her car correctly.
Well, a cop stopped her, she was arrested, but then she was also forced to walk 3 miles to her home on the West Hartford line, at night! She was stopped in Hartford though, and I'm sure that was a pretty scary walk for the lady.
Nice going Hartford cop, who did that! They say they're going to "retrain" the cop, and the news story said the cop was "careless". More like overstepping his boundaries and violating the black lady's civil rights. If I were her, I'd be thinking about filing a lawsuit against the police dept.
But guess, who'll be paying for that if it occurs? The taxpayer, of course.
Yeah, keep on hiring these reckless, "careless", arrogant politicians and cops and see where it gets you State of Connecticut.
I see more & more people, who were long standing residents moving out of this area! I cannot say I blame them either.
They tax people as much as they possibly can, violate their civil rights, make the state unsafe to live, and yet, we're expected to be "grateful" for what they're doing to us!
What a bunch of nonsense!
