Excellent detective work by the Wethersfield Police Department. What a pathetic "teacher."

Paid administrative leave? Are you kidding? She stole 2,000 dollars from the school, and she is getting paid for her crime? I don't think that is right.

If she is proven guilty, throw the book at this crook!

$2,000 - while a alright chunk of change - does not seem like enough to ruin your career over.
Especially with all the hastles of shipping, listing the items, etc.
No wonder kids are getting so stupid these days... when the teachers who they are supposed to be learning from are setting a bad example from the start.

Paid administrative leave, what a joke, how infuriating, those are my tax dollars paying that slime.

I agree, Dan. Also, the Superintendent's "no comment" leaves something to be desired. How about something like "While we respect that the criminal system will ultimately determine the guilt or innocence of this employee and acknowledge this employee's privacy rights, Wethersfield Public Schools will not tolerate theft of public assets. Wethersfield will aggressively pursue all legal remedies to obtain full restitution for all monetary losses which prove to be attributable to this individual."

Maybe the Teacher's Union wants to put this lady in a position of power. She is a crook and stupid. She sounds perfect for it.
Will counclers be availble for students on Monday who want to discuss this incident??? LOL.
The system is broke. Enjoy the last 10 years this country has before we destroy ourselves from within.

This is just the tip of the iceberg...think of how much we don't know about...it has been going on for years!! Now, she's out on paid leave, and the town is paying another teacher to take over for her. The biggest loss is to the children. She betrayed their trust and should NEVER teach again!!

Although Mrs. Kress did commit a crime,(a serious one at that) she must have some type of illness to do this, and is to be pitied. Someone in her right mind would not do something of this nature...Also, for those who know her...she IS a gifted teacher and no one can take that from her!

I still can't believe that someone would blow their career for $2000.

Without morals how could she be a "gifted teacher". The only illness she could have would be GREED. She should never be allowed to use her "gift" again.

I'm glad you believe in freedom of speech...because it is that very freedom that allows me to say someone IS a gifted teacher despite their imperfections...

A gifted teacher? One should not comment on things that they know little about. I beg to differ. And, that I KNOW!!! By the way...there was also no remorse expressed at the time of her arrest! Pity? No way. I pity the children and the taxpayers in the Town of Wethersfield!!

Sorry ... she lost that distinction the first time she decided to steal resources from her students, not to mention their trust.

Was the teacher hot? Perhaps instead of stealing she could have molested some children (that's sarcasm).

Very surprised she would do this - never would have expected it; but a crime is a crime and she stole from those she was supposed to be teaching. Great example of teachers who just don't teach. Teaching our kids it's O.K. to steal. They should make her pay the school the original cost of each book and every penney she made on selling the books, community service and whatever else the court can do to "teach" her a lesson, even if it's jail time.

What a shame, she was employed by another school in the town of Wethersfield. A private school but still another school?!?! She forged prescriptions and was immediately terminated by the school. How was she ever even employed by them?!?! Such a shame because right now she is probably working at some other school committing crimes there too.
