Backyard fires .. Isn't there an ordinance?

I am allergic to smoke but apparently there is a lot of wood being burned in outdoor fireplaces. I thought there was an ordinance against them unless they were used to cook food?
Wethersfield used to be full of friendly caring families and now it's a bunch of discourteous slobs.

Yes there is an ordinance. You have to be cooking food if you have a fire. No open burning. I have noticed an increase in outdoor fires. I think people are just not aware of the law and it's too hard to enforce.
