Probably the nicest post I've read from you.
You're very fortunate to have an aversion to all the things many of us love.
I deserve a little harassment about eating sweets. I take my pills religiously and get blood work and follow ups regularly but, otherwise, I'm a terrible patient. Luckily, my doctor gets me.
Also, fortunately, my blood sugars have always been within the normal range.
Just 15 pounds lighter and I'd be pill free as well. Already did it once. Became rather sedentary in the past few years. Not proud of it. Was very active most of my life.
I rarely took an aspirin until the age of 49 and am now cursed with taking pills - for diabetes and also high blood pressure and high triglycerides - for the rest of my life.
So kudos to you if you've done everything right and won't have to deal with any diseases that come back to haunt you in later years.
Believe me, I'm jealous.
(Oddly enough, I think we just bonded. Seems a little strange. Say something good about Obama. Quickly.)
I didn't say I did everything right. Far from it. I did some things right and have been fortunate, but as you've pointed out, things pile up as people age.

I wish you only the best, even though I give you a hard time.

Obama will soon show his power by parting the seas.

Therein lies the problem. Most healthcare spending is on people in the final stage of life.
But who gets to decide who's terminal and isn't worth treating??
LOL, that was all time new low for stupidity.

Golly gee, doctors everyday tell people and family members that their diseases are terminal. This isn't new.

Hmmmm, man-up.
No body is as foul mouthed as your side. That is a FACT!

Labeling people as "stupid" or an "idiot" is the norm for both sides. But you Rethugs take the prize for having the foulest mouths.

It was one of your own who just posted about "libturd bullsht". It was one of your own who just called a liberal poster a "plain old nutsucker". It was one of your own who just called RealDave a "dumbfk". Not to mention your lowlife crony who repeatedly calls others "dumazzezzz" and posts things like "the greatest thing you can do for your country is to kill yourself. Take the patriotic initiative today by garglng with razor blades and strychnine." You must be so proud.

I think the reason you people throw f*cked around so much is because it is just a word you use every day in normal conversation. You don't even recognize it as being foul language.

Jon Stewart grills Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Obamacare and accuses her of lying to him
Jon Stewart interviewed Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius about the roll out of Obamacare
Said that there is a 'legitimate criticism' over the fact that big businesses are allowed to wait a year before getting their employees coverage while individuals face a fine if they don't sign up by December 15
Also critiqued the tech problems that have plagued the Obamacare site
Signed off by saying that he thought 'she was lying' to him
Jon Stewart has been attacking the Republicans all week over the government shutdown but he took aim at a member of his own party on Monday night.
Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, was probably expecting a soft-ball interview about the roll out of President Obama's signature health care plan but instead she was left backpedalling to try to recover from his pointed criticisms.
The Comedy Central host started by poking fun at how long the online marketplace takes to load, saying that it was comparable to the amount of time it would take to download all of the movies ever created.

Saw that. Sebelius didn't have much credibility and actually made Obamacare look even less credible. Didn't think that was possible.

URGENT WARNING: Pentagon Warns To Expect “Radical” Change In US Government Soon
October 8, 2013
A highly troubling “urgent bulletin” issued earlier today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) states that it has received information from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) warning to expect a“radical change” in the government of the United States, possibly within the next fortnight, based on information they have received from “highly placed” sources within the Pentagon.
According to this MoFA bulletin, GRU intelligence assests were notified by their Pentagon counterparts this past week that President Barack Obama is preparing to invoke the powers given to him under 50 USC Chapter 13 to hold that various American States are now in a “state of insurrection” thus allowing him to invoke the National Emergencies Act under 50 USC § 1621 and invoke the highly controversial“continuity of government” plan for the United States allowing him, in essence, to rule with supreme powers.
Specifically, this bulletin says, Obama will invoke 50 USC § 212 that states:“ the President shall have declared by proclamation that the laws of the United States are opposed, and the execution thereof obstructed, by combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings”
The specific laws being opposed by these “combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings,” that Obama will outline in his reasoning’s for declaring a state of emergency, this bulletin continues, are the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), otherwise known as Obamacare...

<quoted text>A better question might be why are there so many poor people? We're at the same 15%+- poverty level that we were at in 65 when we had passed the measure that would fix it? It's because for years, Lily, we've been supporting, even if only tacitly, the people and institutions that have been holding people in mediocrity.
Don't believe me? Go out and hit financial rock bottom, lose all of your assets, go on public assistance--all of it--wait a bit, then go out and use that passion of yours to gain entry level work. Completely start over.
You will find that you will very quickly come to a place where you will be ineligible for the level of assistance you need, even with your job, to make ends meet. You can't do it from entry level when you lose your benefits outright. There's no real gradation, no gradual weaning you off of the system. It's mostly all or nothing.
And I haven't even mentioned the regulatory hurdles you'd face in trying to, say, learn a trade and market it. Did you know that you'd have to par tens of thousands of dollars to pull yourself up by driving a cab in NY? Can't get a trade license without the union...I know this from living in this blue state.
Unless you've done this, it's all hyperbole.

A Quinnipiac national poll released October 1st show American voters oppose 72%-22% Congress shutting down the government in their effort to block implementation of the law. Voters also choose a Democratic candidate over a Republican candidate 43%-34% in a generic ballot, the widest Democratic margin measured so far for the 2014 elections."

I didn't read the article; however I will say this: If the wealthy give more to charities; it's usually done to claim a tax deduction. They may set up foundations with lofty sounding names and have their photos taken with a check surrounded by a few poor black kids that they can frame and put in their offices. That money rarely gets to a poor person. It's money laundering.
Oh yes, they have their fancy balls for the see and be seen; and the next day, rush to pick up The Shiny Sheet in Palm Beach so they can see their photos and compare ball gowns. It's all bullshyt. If you want to help someone; do it directly.
Those who are wealthy got their by the sweat of others who worked for them and more is expected of them. Why don't they just pay their taxes?
That's a rather pessimistic attitude - that wealthy people just give to charities as a tax write off.

If someone is helping others, what difference does it make if not all of them have the same pure intentions as others?

The article focused on average income conservatives who even make a little less than liberals but give 30% more.

It's not that all liberals are tightwads. Many are just as generous as conservatives. It's the self-righteous attitude by some liberals - that unless the government acts as our collective conscience - conservatives are selfish just for believing giving comes from the heart.

There will always be a safety net in this country. We are a compassionate people. But the government has no right to decide who will be more charitable than others and forcibly take people's money based on that decision. That is not their role. It's also stealing.

It's a way to keep veterans and their families from losing out and crucial organizations up and running until sanity returns.

Why wouldn't democrats want to at least do that?

They want to make some kind of point by inflicting punitive measures on as many as possible.

That's why.

Just did. Prepping for the Master's license. See a lot of other guys doing it, also. Seen a lot of guys stop doing it for those reasons. It's not easy not having money when you start out to get somewhere. And when you finally get there, to some measure of comfort, and some larger measure of potential, and your own camp poises to take it, or cause the loss or diminution of it, it pisses you off and you tell people about it.

Saying anything to ya, yet?
