Cry me a river, I have two kids, four kids...NOT MY PROBLEM I'm paying way more than $437 a month just for my husband and myself. Close your legs and stop pushing out babies I'm done paying for you. My mother was a resident at Newington Health Care until she passed away. These people are SCUM. I wish they worked as hard at patient care as they seem to be on their picket line. My mother suffered every day she was there and the people providing most of her care were her FAMILY because all the staff does there is hide, while patients are UNFED and UNCHANGED.

They think paying all expesive air fare, hotel, transportation, meal s, security, overtime is cost saving measure.Contracts are a lot cheaper.Sorry for the patients. Those cost would give NEWINGTON HCC PATIENTS EXTRA OUTING WHICH THEY DON'T HAVE.

If you cared so much about your loved one, you should have, immediately, looked for another placement for her. Instead, you obviously, did nothing. To say that the employees at Newington Healthcare are "SCUM" really only shows your bitter, mean spirit. For the record,$437. per month for health insurance for 6 people is quite affordable. Instead of spewing venom, educate yourself on the facts.

Dear Patrick

Educate YOURSELF. This was the second nursing home we had her in, she died before we could get out.

I truly am sorry for the problems you encountered. No one should "suffer" at the end of their life. There are, however, other options. But, it is difficult when you're in the throws of caring for an elderly parent and no one tells you how to navigate the complicated system. It's hard but try to put it behind you and I can tell, you did the very best for your mother.

Unfortunately this is a problem with many of the care facilities and not enough is being done about it.

Unfortunately, those that can and do keep their elderly loved ones at home with a caregiver have NO oversight at all. These "caring" companies send out people with a minimum of training and little administrative support. The quality of most of the employees of these companies is ridiculously poor. The fact that they're in private homes is cause for concern. DO NOT be fooled by those warm and charming brochures with smiling caregivers and content family members. And, if you do have a caregiver with your family member....stop in continously, ask questions, check the refrigerator for prepared food, and the medication. Is your loved one clean, clothes washed, home tidy? Are they out of bed? Do they have, and are they being held to a daily schedule? Do they appear content, or, does something not appear just right? Listen to your gut instincts...they're usually right. And, do YOUR OWN background checks on the caregiver. Never take for granted the company has done this. Even when they say they do.
