I note the increased risks in the 3rd trimester; I didn't say it should be denied. Women don't wait that long to electively abort. Doctors are qualified to assess the risks of medical procedures and inform the patient. Most doctors won't perform the procedure if the risks are too great.

Why are *you* "noting" anything?

There are risks throughout the pregnancy,to abort. Why are you "noting" just the risks of the 3rd trimester? What's the risk have to do with the womans choice? Shouldn't she(according to someone prochoice)have the right to decide if those risks are worth it to her or not? I am shocked that you think the Dr should make a decision for her.

FYI,"most" Dr's can't bare to abort such late term babies. It's barbaric even for their evil standards.

I know MANY who have ended up with repeat abortions and/or getting pregnant and having the baby immediately following their abortion. I've seen the depression. I've see the spiraling out of control.

I have seen wounded women suffering from their abortions. I care. YOU apparently don't care about them after their abortions. You expect a woman not be able to make decisions about her pregnancy that only affect her, unless it's the one you want her to make, yet you proclaim you provide alternatives and choices. You expect a woman not to not use birth control but to abstain, because life begins at conception, but you can't tell when conception happens.
Then you bitch that paying for birth control goes against your religious beliefs, while expecting non-Christians taxpayers to pay for your churches.
Oh yeah. Common sense alright. Or should we call it condom sense?
ALL I hear about is you people fighting for the right to use birth control to prevent pregnancy and yet all I see is MILLIONS of abortions continuing each year. STFU and use it then. I am personally against artificial birth control. You're not,so what's your problem? You can't control anything in your life? Is that it? You have no self-control whatsoever.

And you stand by your comparison regarding consenting adults having orgasms and pedophiles terrorizing little children and getting off on it.

I disagree with you. Don't be shocked , but whereas you see no difference between the two, I think the only evil here would be the pedophiles.

Yes, the woman has a right to abort. You're catching on.

I don't ask anybody to justify sex, at least as long as it's a legal sex act. People aren't perfect and I don't necessarily expect them to use BC correctly every time any more than I expect them to cook a perfect meal every time or drive perfectly every time. If they screw up, they certainly have the right to mitigate the results of their mistakes. Stop pretending sex is a holy, sacred activity; it's a biological function.

Actually, most PC'ers may want to restrict third-trimester abortions to desperate cases b ut they aren't trying to legislate it since RvW already covered it. And no, it isn't only because the woman is dying that a therapeutic abortion is performed. If the pregnancy compromises her mental or physical well-being, the doctor may well decide an abortion is necessary.
Sassyjm wrote:
<quoted text> I understand quite well that birth control isn't 100%. Claiming that it failed because of that fact is a whole different animale then being sloppy while using it which of COURSE will fail you. Hey,who cares right? The proabort woman has her back up birth control-abortion.
If they don't have to justify sex, then why do they(and you)?.
""""" "They don't have to justify aborting""" """""
Yet,they do,don't they.
Yet,they and the rest of you proaborts WANT a woman (after viability) to justify WHY she is aborting and only...ONLY if she is dying or the baby is dying, can she abort. Elective abortion is not her choice. Isn't that right, peteyboy? Suddenly you people want the baby protected and her rights/choices are meaningless.

I'd appreciate it if you'd chug a gallon of Draino and do the world a favor, but I'm not expecting it to happen just because I ask nicely.

You don't define how people define their OWN political/social viewpoints. The world isn't black and white; the millions of shades of grey are just as valid.
Sassyjm wrote:

Your not pro-choice if you are against her choice to electively abort. I am prolifer/anti-choice for all 9 months of pregnancy. MOST of you are prolifer/anti-choice after viability. So,that is not a "view" on the subject,it is a prolife or prochoice stance.
Being in lockstep has nothing to do with being hypocritical. Either you support a woman making a choice what to do with her pregnancy(month 1-9) or you are anti-choice.
Now,I'd appreciate it if you'd stop making a fool out of yourselves.

Yes, there are risks to pregnancy--which is why abortion should be available in all stages.

I was noting the comparative risks of the abortion procedure vis a vis childbirth; in the 9th month, the risks are equal. Before that, abortion is always safer statistically than childbirth. Every patient should know the risks of any procedure--and they then make their decision based on whatever criteria is relevant to them.

Doctors can choose to perform or not perform abortions--unless the woman is in danger from the pregnancy. At that point, he'd fu**ing well better get over his squeamishness and do his job. And they shouldn't perform abortion in the nude...or did you mean "bear"

If you were any denser, you'd absorb the light around you.

"They don't really understand the consequences of killing their own child as choice."--That is amazingly arrogant, that you assume you have some hidden knowledge and they desperately need it from you. Your fantasy that women who abort are all walking wounded isn't true for the majority of women.

We know what you were noting you pedantic, overbearing bore you. She was asking you WHY you were noting it. She was asking why because it is. like most of what you post here, irrelevant.
You were asked if you support a woman's right to choose to electively abort up to and including the 9th month, for WHATEVER reason. Your stupid pontificating regarding the percentage of abortions done that late or the relative risks of aborting are irrelevant to the question that was being asked. Why she would choose to abort that late is none of your business and it is a given that she would weigh the relative risks involved.
remember we're talking abort here so that means terminating the pregnancy AND the life she carries. Not inducing childbirth.

Now, without your pompous lecturing on irrelevant topics, you may answer.
