Any marriage that includes Christ is a valid marriage and if the couple are protestant and join the church, they do not have to redo the wedding ceremony. If a Catholic wants to marry a Jew or Muslim , they have to get permission from the local bishop.
My husband is not Catholic and we married in a Catholic mass. He agreed to raise our children Catholic.
