If your god wanted people to have kids, he'd make them fertile...right? Shouldn't childless couples just accept god's will?

No, I can't tell, sorry.
I am not talking about the IRS today. Haven't brought it up once. Have no interest in it at present and see nothing relevant about it regarding what I have posted. Although, they are being gone after by the Religious Right at present.
Nothing is ever what it seems in politics, Rose. Nothing.
I haven't said it's all you Christians.
I have said it's the Religious Right. They are, according to headlines, "powerful but small". Powerful because they have the money from the combined churches behind them. Small, because the percentage of people who actually cave to their pressures is still small.
But it's growing.
Did you bother to read what was cut and pasted for your benefit and included the link? It discusses how the Religious Right has been busy trying to dismantle the USA's political and court systems. And they almost succeeded politically.
It is not the Presidents. The Religious Right has been running behind the scenes since Reagan and through all the others following. Bush Sr did more to keep them at bay than did Bush Jr. Clinton let them have bigger pieces of the pie in between the two Bushes.
It is Congress. That Tea Party you keep bringing up, but for different reasons than what is being discussed.
Nobody has claimed they don't have a right to assemble. But they have to follow the same rules everyone else does. And those PACs have specific rules to follow.
What better way to dismantle the IRS as we know it than by claiming they did wrong focusing on the Tea Party PACs?
You notice the Religious Right doesn't fool around? If one of their chosen goes against them (whether real or imagined) they are thrown under the bus.
Look at Komen. The very woman who began the charity due to her sister's death has been let go as CEO and all over that Planned Parenthood fiasco.
If you don't see the Religious Right backing the republicans who initiated that investigation into making sure Planned Parenthood doesn't use federal funds for the abortions performed (as if they hadn't ever been able to keep 'em separate before) and then convincing Komen's then-CEO to help defund Planned Parenthood due to the witch hunt investigation by claiming they would not fund them due to the investigation, then I don't know what to say. The writing's on the wall.
It's a lot of info. There's a lot there for you to read. Nobody expects you to digest it all at once. But read it, Rose, before outright dismissing it.
And,all my posts have been about the,I R S doing what it should NOT do meddle in politics.

You went on to continue feeling that son/daughter move, kick and grow.
Mother to Mother, I'd like to know how in the world you can sit here so coldheartedly and admit that you support such a cruel procedure that intentionally kills that son or daughter. I get sick and discouraged everytime I think that mothers like you are walking the earth.

Illogical, contraception is not a sure way to avoid pregnancy.
Abstinence is.
Contraception is like bait and switch schemes. It baits people into having sex, thinking they are safe from pregnancy. But WHAM, next thing they know, they are PREGNANT!
Pro abortion people love it. It feeds them more patients for the slaughter.
The Big Money people love it, money one way or another by buying contraception or abortion care.
Abstinence is not just the only sure way, its free.

Did she know about reproductive organs ..I sure didn't
Did she know anything about the real world outside the Church.
I know what my mom knew..nada..barely period info from the old ladies.
You are in medicine how much dud the docs even know about our insides and how a baby grows.
The first intrauterine pics were in Life magazine in 72
How much do you think a teenage girl knew in the sixties.
Nit much.
Sincerely me JM what I knew..really
My mom didn't have a mom who talked incessively about sex. My mom just grew up with self esteem from her parents loving her and by being a good example. She used to tell us kids that things weren't that different in her day regarding boys who wanted more than they should. She knew without being told, when a boy was looking to get too comfortable with her. She was young too. She left gatherings with her peers and friends when she SAW an opportunity for temptations or things looking like they were not good. NOBODY taught her that. It's obvious sometimes.

My mom didn't grow "up" in the sixties, but some of my siblings/bro/sis in laws did. My best friend did too. A few grew up as wild-childs. Woodstock. The whole flower child thingy. My gf said that she had zero self-respect and the "anything" goes attitude was right up her alley. She KNEW when she was used for sex with no commmitment. She even had an abortion. She FREELY admitted her abortion as a result of IRRESPONSIBLE behavior. Abortion allowed her to have MORE sex because she knew she'd never give birth. Birth control gave her a green light to IRRESPONSIBLE behavior. My siblings/family lived in that error. They had brains. They KNEW when a boy was using them or wanted sex only. COMMON sense sometimes.

You believed your bf cared. He didn't. MANY people get fooled but deep down inside ,we know the signs. I had a relationship with someone who I thought TRULY cared. I didn't give him sex. My mom comforted my broken heart when he ended our relationship. I was an ADULT btw. It was REALLY hard to understand because I KNEW he liked me. He persued me for YEARS to date him. We were GOOD friends but when push came to shove, his sexual wants won over. In the end,he fought to get me back. I was so tempted. SO tempted but reality was,...what it was. I knew the truth.

So,I don't care if you know your body or not,or what error you grew up in,EVERYBODY knows that sex =baby sometimes. ALL the birth control in the world, especially how long it has been around, how many people use it,they are STILL getting pregnant because SEX LEADS TO PREGNANCY. The majority of those getting aborttions are SINGLE UNMARRIED women.

God forbids premarital sex for a reason. Makes sense why. NOTHING good comes out of it other than a moment of sexual desires for that person. Is it worth it to wait til marriage? YES.

Just how many YEARS have you people been discussing preventing pregnancy by using artificial birth control? LOL I mean, you haven't comprehended it by now?

I remember a few years back hearing Mother Angelica on one of her tv shows discussing sex ed. She said that her mom told her about the birds and the bees. It took ONE time for her to "get it". She doesn't understand all the EDUCATION for years to learn a simple concept. I remember laughing so hard. SO true.

MOST of the education as far as our kids are concerned is not about the actual "sex act" but more self-respect,learning to love yourself as God loves you, that you are not a toy for some selfish boy, that sex/love making is a beautiful act for a married couple not just for procreation-but for bonding. THEN you discuss the consequences of that act outside its proper boundaries the way God intended. DISASTER,HEARTACHE,ETC...

Many women simply can't have children for unknown reasons. Gods will? Perhaps?

But,MANY can't either conceive or carry due to issues that are brought on,that most likely are not God inspired. We live in a toxic environment and that takes its toll on our health. A few women that I know who had abortions were told that because of the abortion, they can't carry their baby. Stressful lives sometimes. Medications.

So many different reasons. Gods will? I don't think so.

My mother was born in the late 50's and she said that my Grandmother never talked to her about sex or anything about her body. When she got her period, she was given the talk by a cousin who's older than her by a few years. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that my Grandma, and those of her generation, were old school Mexicans who were raised to believe that sex, and anything that had to do with sex(including reproductive organs) was "dirty" and you don't talk about those things. So I know where you're coming from when you speak of not being educated about those things.
I have never heard of anyone calling sex "dirty". Just because it was more respected and sacred back when, and that it was not for single unmarried people, didn't mean that it was "dirty".

I hear alot of people discussing how Catholics or religious are taught that sex is "dirty". I have never heard anyone say that. Nor is it a "taboo" subject amongst us. My mom and dad were the most straight laced ,moral people. My mom was never afraid to talk about anything. We lived a moral life but ANYTHING was talked about. ANYTHING. Just because it was not accepted before marriage didn't mean that it was taboo subject.

Interestingly,my daughter(in her 20's) was telling me about her conversation with a family. These people couldn't believe that she talks to me about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. In fact, none of her many friends(but one)have ANY relationship with their Moms.

How sad is that?

Yet,I am the classified "rigid Catholic" by bigots?

Hmmm Let me try this.

I agree. The IRS shouldn't meddle in politics.

The IRS is on the list for being dismantled. What better way to do so than create a scandal and rearrange the executives in charge? Put one in place that favors the Religious Rights "core values" and call it good. Granted, I haven't wanted to discuss this at length because I haven't been able to research it at length and don't wanna -- wow there was a big roll of thunder. Anyway, don't wanna be coming at this without any more information.

In regard to personal privacy and bodily autonomy, I may not like the procedure of abortion, but I like losing these civil rights a lot less.

It used to be republicans and democrats worked together, cooperated, and found balance. What's been chipped away the most is that balance. You talk of sides... Rose, I don't have a side. I believe in civil rights, in equality. I believe in knowing the facts of all sides before spouting off, shooting at the hip so to say. I used to vote either republican or democrat in my state prior to our state gov't changing the rules. That resulted in one unfavorable, inexperienced person voted in as Assessor-Treasurer and created a huge backlash. Last I read, they were changing the revised system, but I still can't vote the way I liked to. Now I have to pick a side.

And there's more thunder... they said thunder storm possibly late afternoon... guess it's here now.

I am glad we are able to discuss this civilly. You remind me of my mom, though. Stubborn as all hell! LOL

IMO "the pill" has given women a false sense of security. Part of the problem is that education about the pill is lacking. Many women still don't know that the pill MUST be taken every day, that it's effectiveness can be compromised by certain drugs like antibiotics, and that it offers no protection against STD's.
While abortion will never completely stop, there is a lot that can be done, especially in the area of education, to lower the abortion rates. Of course far too many women don't bother getting themselves educated and/or making the effort to prevent pregnancy because abortion is so readily available.
I agree!

Abortion is a solid back up plan. ADULT women take birth control and don't know HOW to use it or what interferes with it? That is really dumb. I don't take the pill or use any artificial means and even I know that.

It's irresponsible behavior. Abortion is taught as a womans decision and so....50 million abortions later...it's convenient. I'd hardly call them "oops" pregnancies. Let's face it,if abortion was illegal as of tommorow,I'd bet my life there wouldn't be all the "oopsy" irresponsible acts of abortions. ADULTS can't "get it right" but expect teenagers to? NOT gonna happen.

To shift the subject back to the pill given a woman a false sense of security,..when I was a teenager,I had sex education in my school. We learned it all about b/c. You know what it did for the kids in the class the way it was taught? Sex feels good. People want sex. It's natural. ALL you need to do if you want to have sex is to use b/c. You're parents might not approve so use it anyway. Honestly, I walked out of that class thinking "hmmm....an adult saying this is fun and you could be safe"""" "...

It didn't have the positive influence people thought. Our school still had high rates of teenage pregnancy and throughout the years, many girls who had abortions.

My friend in the class, went out,got on birth control and had sex with MANY guys through out her life.. At the time,It seemed so alluring knowing that she got to have all this sex with these cute guys and she will NEVER EVER EVER get pregnant. Seemed so simple.

She did get pregnant and she has a STD.

Another girl I know has cervical cancer and is dying due to her "fun" days of carefree sex while being "protected".

2013 and you think that we NEED to discuss how to prevent pregnancy?
Since unwanted pregnancies still happen, and happen BECAUSE women dont know now the PROPER ways to prevent it, YES you fucking idiot, I DO think we NEED to discuss it.

What does it being 2013 have to do with it?

Osmosis maybe?

Ignorant parents who dont know can't teach the children, and idiots like you want to PREVENT proper education in the schools.

Holy CRAP,you people are so pro-contraception (with MULTIPLE options to prevent pregnancy)yet you still can't prevent pregnancy.
Gee,maybe sex leads to pregnancy when your fertile...so if you don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex at that time. Have it every other freakin day if your that horny. I think that you WILL survive @@
Oh stop acting like such a santimonious ass already. Not every woman KNOWS when they're fertile, many dont even know what that means you fool.

Women with irregular periods can't always tell.

Sperm can live up to FOURTEEN DAYS in a woman, so a woman not having sex during their "fertile" time, can STILL get pregnant.

Again, ITS NOT A ONE SIZE FITS ALL ISSUE you STUPID Skanky jackass.

Women deserve equal rights. They deserved respect. That whole womens movement was borderline selfish attitude-me me me.

Look at the fruits of it...abortion, mom out of the homes with kids in daycares, divorce, STDs
Unfortunatly, the contraception introduction lead to failure more than jhst preventing MULTIPLE unwanted pregnancy.
Look at women today, GROWN women have NO clue
JM? The Equal Rights Amendment never passed. Women still do not have equal rights.

"Conservative women were mobilized in the late 1970s by Phyllis Schlafly (1924) in an effort to stop ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution. The ERA had seemed a noncontroversial effort to provide legal equality when it easily passed Congress in 1972 and quickly was ratified by 28 of the necessary 38 states. Schlafly denounced it as tilting the playing field against the traditional housewife in a power grab by anti-family feminists on the left. She warned it would mean women would be drafted in the Army on the same basis as men. Through her Eagle Forum she organized state-by-state to block further ratification, and to have states rescind their ratification. Congress extended the time needed, and a movement among feminists tried to boycott tourist cities in states that had not ratified (such as Chicago and New Orleans). It was to no avail. The ERA never became law and Schlafly became a major spokesperson for anti-feminism in the conservative movement.[165]"

Do you still think women deserve equal rights? Because you seem to be mimicking what is quoted above. And she didn't think women needed equal rights.
