What about the child? You mean fetus, right? A child would drown in utero.
Let me put it this way: No fetus asks to be born. No fetus asks to be aborted. All fetuses are unaware of their environment, themselves, and others.
The only ones abortion bothers are fetus worshipers. But, tell us. What do these fetus worshipers want to cut first when money gets tight?
They want to cut Foodstamps. They want to cut TANF. They want to cut Medicaid. They want to cut Headstart. And, according to Topix' front page today, they want to limit where these funds can be spent (ie, no purchases of anything with a sin-tax attached to it).
And that makes it more about controlling women than about caring for their fetuses.
We're talking about abortion. Not welfare. I know no fetus asks to be born or aborted. Just like someone in a coma doesn't ask to be put on life support until they get better. Just like if someone is killed in their sleep, they are unaware of their enviornment. Just because someone or something can't speak up for itself doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want with it.

Wow, you're comparing crap to an unborn child? Never heard anything quite hilarious like that before. You were "part" of your mother's body during her pregnancy? In what way? Did you also have your first heartbeat, have a seperate DNA, a different brain and heart than your mother? Did your mother give you blood, or did you have your own blood and did your heart pump it instad of your mother's heart? Can't wait to hear this answer. Oh, and yeah, your mother didn't decide for other women, nor did mine. So, you're pretty lucky that she made the right choice for you. You got an opputunity to live. Millions of others didn't have that choice. all you care about is the woman. What about the child?
once again you prove that conservatives are incapable of understanding anything that isn't black or white. a comparison of something that is part of a woman, such as a brain, heart or other organ doesn't leave the woman, whereas a baby does during child birth...the supposed point is that a fetus isn't part of a woman. I merely pointed out that a stool is also secreted from a woman's body.

as for the pregnancies that have been terminated, we have no idea how their lives would have turned out. some would have a good life, others a living hell. But we do have statistics that show
teenage mothers usually do not make good mothers
unwanted children do not live the "Father knows best" life
financially strapped families have a tendency to produce criminals
there are all kinds of statistics that prove unwanted children in economically disadvantaged families have a hard life that tends to produce criminals

why would the encroach-or need a remedy if he wasn't the one being harmed? you often make very little sense.

Well how do you expect the just under a million annual abortions to be birthed and cared for without welfare benefits?

Actually kids who live a hard life can be successful people. I knew a kid who went to George Washington High School, one of the worst schools in the country. His mother was pregnant with him at the age of 16. Despite a hard life and an abusive household, he went on to graduate from Fordham and become a lawyer. He know lives in an apartment on the Upper East Side and has already paid off his student loans. And I am NOT making this up. There are alot of underprivledged kids like this. If children are born into a bad life you can't automatically judge them as future failures. It's up to the CHILD, not the parents or others, to determine what to do with his or her life. Yes some children will grow up to be failures. But that's a seperate issue. Abortion won't solve a child or mother's problems. It also won't determine who will be bad and who will be good. It's the CHILD'S decision, not the mother's.

Thanks.
In a debate, both teams need to use the same words with the same definitions otherwise there is a stalemate. Like what's happened here in this thread.

It's a new year. I am moving forward. Are you?

They do. You think that this great and free country denies children support? Of course not. And if they do I would feel free to protest it any day with you (no sarcasm). Children should recieve help if they need it AND have a right to live THIER life. Again, I do not want to share my political beliefs with you because this is an ABORTION discussion. Would you rather have your tax dollars go to Planned Parenthood, or child services?

Reason given for 0.1% of abortions is for life of mother.
Beyond that, did your mom teach you that it is okay to intentionally kill another innocent human being if they are deeemed an inconenience? I doubt it, based on Holocaust history.
What did your mom explain to you about the how mankind was created to procreate - pregnancy?
Did she actually teach you that the natural and normal way for human beings to procreate is an abnormal "encroachment" on his/her mother?
Really?
(wow....such fools.......)
My mother was a Socialist in Europe and taught me to care about burdens of people's life. She risked her life for that cause.
But about the .01% who have abotions to save her life, Catholicism doesn't permit it. Do you agree with that Church tenet?

On that subject. No dancing, Listening only to christian music. Allowed to view only approved 1950's tv series. Oh and no sex unless your husband really, really wants it... Yeah, I am sure that would satisfy most of the christian fanatics..
But wait, sex is only for procreation remember? So once the woman is pregnant there is no more sex.

Teens today? Prob not, but many older folks were born to teen moms. Most abortions don't come from teens anyway. Most come from older women, that use their right to go to bars and have one night stands, then want to get rid of the "problem ",but abortion is not their main problem -sin is, which is all our main problem.
Jesus made a painful way, for us to escape OUR sin debt, but most enjoy their sin, and want nothing to do with true Love.)
