As mentioned a few weeks ago! Nice activity for the OLDE TOWNE but we have yet to see a plan that mentions who will be responsible for the clean up following the horses!!!!!!!!!! Signed Mr. Webb, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Deane and Red Onion Guy!!!!!!!!!!

Let's do the math: 8 days, 32 total hours of rides, for $25,000. That is $3,125 per day or $781 per hour that the state of CT is paying for carriage rides. On top of that, the passengers are being charged to ride.
I am ashamed that our town elected officials think this is a good way to spend CT taxpayer funded grant money. Fonfara should be ashamed of himself for obtaining state money for this wasteful activity. Do you think for a minute that if it was not "free" state money our residents would stand for such a frivolous expense?
If it is such a great idea, why aren't the merchants funding it themselves? Maybe because it is only a great idea if the money is "free" from the state.
I want an accounting after the program of how many rides were given and the total number of people this attracted to Wethersfield. Also, how much merchants' sales increased due to this. Think we'll ever get that accounting??

That legislation is only PENDING... it is NOT the law...and, if it passes? It is a ridiculous law that will deprive people of a 'nice experience'....but then, when it passes?? We can always EAT the horses or, better yet, feed the horse meat to our dogs...or give it to the US ARMY who feeds THEIR DOGS horse meat....GET A LIFE!!!!

Saw that dapper pair today trotting at a good pace south on the west side of the Green!
I did not get a close look, but I will tell you, I would NEVER trot my darlin's on the asphalt, never mind with a touch of ice here and there.....
What they wearing on their hoofies?
Not Nikes. The impact is not good at all for their skinny little legs.....
