What's the most compelling experimental test you've found for climate change mitigation? Does it seem to indicate a carbon tax is better than cap and trade? Is investment in carbon sinks more productive than CO2 emission restrictions? Just what does the experimental science say?

So far, not one publication of climate change mitigation experimentation. Man made catastrophic climate change theory is also untested.

Don't buy a pig in a poke. Wait for the science to catch up with the hype. Now isn't the time to cut off your head for cryopreservation, either.

About 400 metric tons of contaminated groundwater flows into the ocean from the Fukushima site every day. Tepco is scheduled next month to begin extracting spent fuel rods from one of the reactors buildings, a task that precedes the removal of melted uranium cores in three other reactors.[Tepco Can’t Manage Fukushima Cleanup Alone, Ruling Party Says]

More voices from the coalfields:
From Pikeville, KY:
“Obama promised to Kill Coal and Kill jobs in KY.That is ONE promise even Obama will keep.
Middle Class KY Dem voters will gladly increase their own families Tax payments to the State by at least 30% to cover the loss in State Revenue.
All Hail THE Obama!!”
From Winchester, KY:
“But what the hell good does it do for us to keep harping about it. It is a lead pipe cinch that OBAMA and the EPA destroyed the Eastern Ky. Coal industry and will destroy the rest of the coal regions over the next 10 years. OK, we are in agreement on that so lets move on.
Now we need to make him and congress fix it, they broke it they should have to fix it.
You might say steel was destroyed by competition "subsidized by governments to dump it here lower than we could produce it". You might say the Automotive industry in Detroit was destroyed by competition "corporate lobbyist pushing for outsourcing every damn living wage automotive Mfg. job" plus the influx of Japanese and Korean cars.
Coal is unique in that coal was not destroyed by competition, coal was destroyed by the Federal Government, first by our government signing on to the U.N. Kyoto Protocol to reduce carbon emissions, then by the E.P.A. raising air standards beyond what the burning of coal for power production can meet, now by actively trying to kill the export of coal to China and India also.
I'm not talking welfare or even direct job creation because not the Federal, State or local government is responsible for job creation but they are responsible for creating conditions for job creation and the economy to transition from coal which they killed to non coal jobs.
The Federal Government should declare the Eastern Ky. Coal Fields an Economic Disaster area because they are the ones that created this disaster and then congress should vote funds for projects to help the area transition from coal.
If Obama likes renewables let them convert every flood control dam we have to hydroelectric. If he likes solar let them fund Solar Powered Power Generation Projects across the coal fields on abandoned strip mine property. Let them fund displaced miner and worker training to work in these industries plus plant maintenance if we can attract any in here with cheaper power and lower taxes. They can help with the tax subsidy for new industry into Eastern Ky.
OK, so Obama killed the Coal Industry, he broke it, make him fix it. Our Gov. that carried water for his Obamacare needs to call in a favor. Our state senators need to get him to declare the place he broke an Economic Disaster Area and congress needs to pass legislation to fund projects in Eastern Ky. that will help us transition from a coal to a non coal economy.”

From Pikeville, KY:
“The 500 Billion that Obama gave just one solar panel company Sylndra would have converted every flood control dam we have in Eastern Ky. to Hydroelecric Power generating stations. It would have built several large Solar Generating stations across Eastern Ky. on the tops of abandoned Strip Job plateaus. It could have finished and built more interstate Highways into the region. It could have aid for the retraining of our workforce to be qualified for the non coal industry that cheap power and tax subsidy would create. It would have the immediate effect from the construction and new jobs created by the renewable projects construction. Millions of dollars pumped into the local economy just from the construction phase of the renewable energy projects. This would be Obama's shinning moment to prove the viability of his push for renewable energy sources as he helps an area's economy he destroyed to transition from coal that he destroyed to Hydro and Solar.
500 Billion wasted on a corporation that was set up just to skim off the money. Not one watt of solar electric power created and he can't spend just one hundred billion here to save an area he helped destroy? This is what we need to be telling the Gov., Mitch, Rogers, Rand Paul and everybody that has Obama's ear. He broke it, he needs to help fix it.”

He doesn't care if you loose everything it's part of his design to destroy America. He's well on his way to making your family in Kentucky bankrupt and homeless.

His ally is Terry McAuliffe and he plans to tax to death the people of Virginia and the people are so blind they will probably vote for him as their governor. Terry is a scam artist has been all his adult life. He business partner was convicted recently did anyone there report this? Probably not. Terry was involved in a business venture which was responsible for scamming terminally ill Americans out of their money soon if elected he'll be doing that in Virginia.

First of all never spoil a good story with facts. For a start Solyndra was not given 500 billion it was $525 million. That's quite a big difference when comparing apples with apples.
The fossil fuel industry gets subsidies globally $1.9 Trillion a year. That would cover every American home with solar panels and have lots of change left over. Promoting constant carbon emissions without clean up is no different than dumping toxic waste into a river. The effect is the same. Remember the Romans who had lead water pipes and vessels. Half of them went nuts which is often speculated playing a contributing factor to the fall of the Roman empire. There is a lot of analogies here with the defence of coal as all gain with no pain. In a hundred years the history books will be highlighting those who ignored all the warnings and the price they paid.

Since we're comparing apples to apples let's consider all the different solar energy companies Obama Administration gave money too. They are bankrupt and no viable product or research for American companies to benefit from the last I heard. Abound in Longmont, Colorado not only took taxpayers money and went bankrupt they also left behind over 3 million dollars in hazardous waste. The building they were using cannot be leased out because of toxic waste which was left behind. All these wonderful 'green' companies which were supposed to be better for our environment are now a toxic waste dump by people who skimmed the money and ran.

If the money had been used to upgrade coal technologies, invest in our bridges and highways, upgraded and improved our school buildings, maybe pay our debt to our veterans who have been waiting to have benefits they are owed to them and their families...the list is long and if we had a president who wasn't a disengaged ideologue and took his job seriously for the betterment of Americans then these would have been priorities. What I believe he was doing is paying back through grants his political backers. Everything Obama does is through the lens of political leverage.

Then now we have the boondoggle of ACA which is just the worse rollout of a new product I've ever seen! How many hundreds of millions wasted on that joke? Website is a bust. But to another screw up, what about the company which was contracted to process the applications for ACA who was given 1 billion dollars and we just now find out they are under investigation for FRAUD in the UK.
The company has a dubious reputation but somehow we trusted them with a billion dollars of taxpayer's money.

According to Forbes by the time employers and individuals receive all the cancellations on existing policies which no longer conform to ACA requirements the number of people uninsured will be 93 million. Before ACA we had 85% covered Americans who were happy with their health insurance. After ACA implementation it looks like just under 100 million individual and employer insurance will be cancelled. How is that a improvement? Please don't tell me their plans will be grandfathered I read section 1521 and it's clear that the regulations will terminate existing policies. Forcing millions into a government one size fits all plan.

First of all in a market stall if you were buying $2 organic apples against the stall next door that sold for .50c but used tonnes of sprays and fertiliser to grow them who would you buy from ??? It's the same with alternative energy, unless the price goes up to its real value and a tax on it's emissions for generation then the poor ole solar panel doesn't have a chance. It needs sky high energy prices to become viable, not compete in a lop-sided market. People will not change their habits on a "feel good" basis you have to hit them in the pocket to do it.

As for AHC, to every other country on the planet it is viewed as a fundamental human right. That is, in a civilised world we look after each other when we are sick. The irony of that is everywhere even in the redneck states where they won't execute a criminal who is sick, they have to get them well first then kill them. I mean what is the point of paying for a Military in the terms of billion$ of dollars to protect American interests. Yet on the other hand saying if you get sick, well f...k you! look after yourself. There is not an ounce of logic in that sort of thinking. Wether it be laws of the land or road rules those things exist to protect the population as a whole. Not just those who can afford to drive a car. Health care in the USA is more expensive by a factor of one third than anywhere else in the world. That is NOT because its the best, the French have a far more healthier population than the US, so go figure. Something is wrong with that system. The whole point of universal health care is to make sure EVERYONE is covered. So to keep premiums down all the healthy 20 somethings are paying their share of health as well. That's how it works, sure it costs more because we all live longer these days so unless they make it mandatory to die at 75 it will keep going up. Why because birth rates are in negative territory which will also hit China hard in the next decade or so with its one child policy. So there are BIG problems to solve on a global basis besides climate and health. One of the US biggest problems is a non functioning congress which is not as easy to fix as a broken web site. Just think if you owned a business and half the employees were on a sole mission to make that business fail. How successful would it be ?????? Well that is congress in a nutshell.

Hello litesong, is it your 13th birthday yet? Thanks for confirming you are just another warmist who has done nothing but cry about warming while expecting others to do something about it.
Now, when you decide you actually want to do something personally about warming, then you can be taken seriously. Until then, you are just an internet warrior. I wish you the best, and hope you grow up and make your parents proud.

Here we agree, climate change mitigation is about raising the price of energy and fuel. Oddly enough, that's the same goal OPEC has for oil, higher prices.

I oppose new taxes on energy and fuel.

Apparently you don't pay attention to the number of Americans who are under employed or without jobs and on public assistance of some kind...the number is 47%. Raising utilities prices causes prices to be raised across the board as in food, gasoline, etc. which is a really bad idea during a downturn in the economy. We are still anemic in our economic growth so this isn't a viable or sustainable suggestion.

France? Did you really suggest we be more like France? LOL, their
tax rate is 75% and we all should be aware of the migration of the wealthy out of France! As far as ACA, Forbes is estimating 93 million will lose healthcare coverage in the individual and employer market that is not an improvement when prior statistics 85% were covered with a policy they like for themselves and their families. Several large company sponsored policies no longer cover spouses and children causing large expense for those families to try and cover spouse and children. These changes hit the middle class the same as a 30% tax. Real consequences for real people. Remember the middle class which has been decimated? Think what that means to a lower middle class or poor worker and their families? This isn't the mean old insurance company punishing policy holders it's the law of the land and insurance companies have to comply or face huge liabilities legally.

Climate- aggregate means temp has not increased for the last 15 years. If we have global warming then we should be able to prove continued warming during the last 15 years.

I have been a business owner and had employees and their families depend on me to keep them employed in a stable work and income environment. Higher taxes and regulations stifle and eventually kill small business. Congress is supposed to represent the will of the people who sent them not walk lockstep with an out of control government run by obviously incompetent utopian dreamers.

Washington, DC - infoZine - Red Fox James, a Blackfeet Indian, rode horseback from state to state, getting endorsements from 24 state governments, to have a day to honor American Indians. In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed a joint congressional resolution designating November 1990 as “National American Indian Heritage Month.” Similar proclamations have been issued every year since 1994.
