Officials said the two brothers had been estranged for years when they ran into each other at a bar Oct. 21, 2004. Later, the brothers went to their mother's home in Westworth Village so John Oakes could reunite with her, too.

A 43-year-old Lake Worth man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday for fatally shooting his older brother after they got into a fistfight during a night of drinking.
