Stephanie & I have been married for 7 years Dec. 13th 2003. We began our ministry journey shortly after we met at Abundant Life Church in Fort Walton Beach, Fl in 2001. I would say that it was our sincere love for the Lord and people that God increased our passion for the “Front Lines” ministry, such as street evangelism, youth ministry, and leading in worship. Together we walked through every door of opportunity sharing the love of Jesus with everyone that we encountered. Since then, Stephanie and I have walked through several doors of ministry which encompassed a call to Youth & Worship Ministry for over 9 years.

Our focal point is to witness many people come running to Jesus, and to see the church fulfill its role as a “Light in our Community.”

After Graduating from Beacon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology in 2006, I became licensed with the Assemblies of God Pen-Florida District in 2007. Our first call to ministry was at Glad Tidings Community Church in Key West, Fl. In Key West, we were able to impact the island with a fresh out pouring of God’s spirit, seeing hearts ignited for the love, plan, and purpose of God.

While serving at Glad Tidings, God continued to speak to our hearts for Westville, making it possible to transfer to the Illinois District where we served 2008-2010 as Youth & Evangelism pastors at Joliet First Assembly.

Today we can clearly say that God has opened our greatest door of opportunity to build with-in the community of Westville, Grace Life Assembly.“A place where everyone is welcome and anyone can change”. We will finally make a difference to be a thriving church on the “Front Lines” God has been faithful!

Grace Life Pastors, Joshua & Stephanie Bugby.

Fundamental Purpose:

It is with great anticipation to share with you the ministry needs for a new church in Westville, IL. I believe that with my experiences and background in Westville alone in its “rural nature”, With God with us and for us, Great opportunity is ahead of us for others to experience a rebirth initiative for all who seek a fresh start in life by calling on our Savior Jesus!

Statistically America has become a post Christian world, with less than 17.5% of the population attending an orthodox Christian church on any given weekend, and that percentage decreases by the size of its town. That’s why we feel the importance of birthing a “Fresh & Thriving” church that will refresh the community of Westville with hope, encouragement, and a future!

I am reminded that availability with the right motive will supersede ability with years of experience,(As long as God is leading this church).Together we will make Grace Life happen!

I would love to say that Westville is booming with families, household income is on the rise, and people from all across the nation are finding the fountain of youth in Westville, IL.

But the facts are quite the opposite, which is a GREAT REASON to fulfill Christ’s mission, to be the hands and feet of Jesus that has been missing in this community for a long time.

Simply put,“meeting the needs of people, to see and experience the need for change".
What we are committed in doing:

What are we committed to?

Our Commitment: Grace Life is committed to being a light to the City of Westville by introducing the saving belief in Jesus Christ.
Our goal:is to build a community of faith that desires to reach everyone where they are.
Simply put, creating an environment “where everyone is welcomed, and anyone can change.”

Our Purpose:Grace Life values everyone who walks in our doors,we vow to bring out Gods freedom in every life, by equipping our community with Gods message that instructs, strengthens, encourages, and ministers to those who hear and in their surrounding communities they live in.

Hello Kati!

Yes, thats a fair observation! Please let me explain why I personally see the need for "Grace Life" in the community of Westville. The cold hard facts are that churches who have been around for years, have infact been on the decline in attendance and membership, in many ways due to the fact of using the same type of methods in reaching the people in the community. I strongly believe that there is a huge % of the population of only 2,600 people in Westville who have never realy heard the "Grace Message", and more than likely are not being reached on the door steps of the homes and trailer park communities that exist in Westville. I know first hand beings that I have lived in Westville a goof prtion of my life, where when I was just a teenager I needed reached more than ever as I was influenced by wrong peers, and did lots of heavy drugs in that area along with others that I hung around with. All I basicly knew about the church/relgn. was that you had to go there to recieve what ever you were looking for. Very seldom do churches go where the people are and take the church to them??.. Yet Still today there are hurting people that are looking for hope, that may not think that they belong in a "church setting" due to the "stereo type" or lables & bagage that come along in lifes package of error, which I believe that the true "Church" God people should still be in the business of the "Great Commision" to Go and seek to save that whick is lost.. Just 3 weeks ago we did our first prayer walk in some of the communities in Westville, one being a trailer park that I ran a round in when I was young and up to no good, LOL!.. & just the look on the faces of (REAL HOPE) knowing that a new church was coming to town to "reach people where they are". cared enough to step out of the walls of the building and be the church..(not that I am pointing fingures at any church that may or may not be doing this?).. & I pray that the churches that are still in Westville we continue to pray for Westville, and not give up ont he people who live there. My next step is to get to know the existing pastors there in the community and meet regularly and dream and vision together. Not just one church (New or old) can win a city to God, it takes lots of prayer and unity, and that's my number one goal is to see unity amongst the churches that will reach the unchurched at any cost together!.. I may sound Zealouse I know, but this has been my dream for 12 years to come to pass. now just 6 months away from our opening service in Jan 2012, my heart is a pitter patter for people to be reached out of God's love like never before. This is a BIG task, but We happen to serve a Big God!.. There will be lots of hurting families to sit with, cry with, and walk with, in this journey of Grace, including the majority of friends that I left behind for years, as I sought out ministry to one day return strong enough to help lead, and to bring a refreshing to the city in general. Trust me just b/c Im returning to fo this great project doesnt mean our church will be flooded with people, like anything else in the ministry it will take a lot of prayer, and visiting peopel where they are to builf acceptance before most even step foot in "Grace Life". Thats why more than anything the cause is SO GREAT, and the time I feel is SO SHORT. As a young pastor I ask myself all the time, "Is this realy possible?" but the only answer that I have been recieving lately is, "Who's church is this?".. The ultimate answer is that as long as this project of Grace and Hope reamians "God's church" and not just my own "works or rightouseness" than what ever we will put pur hands to fo for his glory, will not only be great, but Greater that what we could have even imagined.
