Westville pumps need work
Mayor Jeff Slavik told the Westville Village Council Tuesday night that the pumps are not working to capacity at the Michigan Street Lift Station.

These pumps were part of the original upgrades. It's really sad that the health, safety and welfare of the community has to suffer. We have paid the engineers thousands of dollars. It will be interesting to see what the Attorney General's Office hands out when the consent order expires in December 1008. The concil has people on it that has sat on the board for years and two other ones have sat on the sanitary board. The village attorney was the sanitary district's attorney. The present sanitary district attorney drew up the present intergovernment agreement between the two boards. To my understanding the jury is still out on where the responsibility lies. Come to the meetings and you'll see why Westville still has sewer problems.
