On her way to work as a nurse at the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Facility, Arlene lost her life in a terrible tragedy. Arlene's car was struck, head on, by an 18 year old driver who crossed a double yellow line. According to police records, the other driver was named Jonathan Watch, of Westtown, NY. Only God knows all of the fear and pain that Arlene felt in the dark night on Rt 284. A good samaritan stayed with her and held her hand as they waited for help. But her injuries were so severe that she passed away in the ambulance.
One year later, her family is told that there will be no criminal charges in connection to her death. Arlene's life was abruptly ended by a senseless, reckless act of irresponsibility. Arlene's husband, children, grandchildren, and friends all must go forward with their lives, while there is no justice for her honor. We, as Arlene's family, supporters, and friends, ask that you keep this senseless tragedy in your thoughts as you drive on the roads and be watchful for young, inexperienced drivers.
