Bridgeport gets $4M housing grant

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and state Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith announced the grants Monday, citing the need to grow Connecticut's stock of affordable housing to help expand the state's workforce.

this is an important step if bridgeport wants to pull off the dream of turning downtown into a residental/ retail mecca.
however
they gotta get people to buy the units. i don't know if "old" bridgeport downtown reputation will haunt them on this cause.

Affordable housing to expand the workforce. Don'tchathink jobs would expand the workforce? How about getting jobs to the current unemployed workforce?
