The Nancy Lanza law: Bill focuses on safekeeping of guns
Seeking to disarm the next Adam Lanza before it's too late, a key Republican lawmaker and upholder of the Second Amendment wants the state of Connecticut to require gun owners to lock up their weapons if they live with someone who is mentally unstable.

Their going over board with this i believe .

But ya if you have a suspect kid , grandparent , or whatever living with you or even around you your gonna definitely want to keep the guns in a secure place not just for the public but yourself as well ... and your guns of course .
Just have a few fast draw safes with a pistol plus extra mags ...

Another example of how the politicians hiding the truth creates more controversy. We still don't have the truth as to the motive, tox reports or the computer trail. We do not know if the guns were unlocked, even if they were in any case, or if Adam killed his mother to get the key. He could have killed her and broken into the gun case. No law could have stopped this. A caring community could have. In all the interviews the same thing, people talking about this kid, and nobody really knowing him. There are no laws that could be made to have you protect your guns when you are dead. So let's try making the laws about criminal use and maybe kids won't get shot a mile away from the Presidents house.

Finally, a politician with a brain.

How would you enforce another unenforceable law? Are you going to let law enforcement into your home and look?
#6 Feb 15, 2013
........You think this is a little extreme? Go to the Newtown page, there's a thread there where they are banning imaginary guns at school. Like when kindergarten kids play. I'm really not kidding.

Why 1.6 Billion Bullets? Because
Government Wants to Save You
Money, Of Course
Authoritarian government agencies stocking up on
ammunition to get bulk discounts, not to wage war.
February 15, 2013
Homeland Security and other government
agencies have stocked up, buying more than
1.6 billion bullets (and counting) in recent
months. That’s enough ammo for five bullets
per head in the American population. The
astounding purchase records are admitted
fact, but the question is Why?
The Associated Press addressed the question,
noting the subject as a hot topic on the
Internet and among ‘conspiracy theorists.’ The
news agency quoted Alex Jones, writing,
“ Published federal notices about the ammo
buy have agitated conspiracy theorists since
the fall. That’s when conservative radio host
Alex Jones spoke of an “arms race against
the American people” and said the
government was “gearing up for total
collapse, they’re gearing up for huge wars.”
But according to the AP, the real reason, at least the
explanation given by government officials, is far “less
sinister.” It’s about nothing more than saving money.
Homeland Security and other government agencies are
just using large quantity buys to bring down costs. Pre-
purchasing extra ammo in bulk, supposedly being used
for law enforcement training, gives discount prices.
According to the AP:
Federal solicitations to buy the bullets are known as
“strategic sourcing contracts,” which help the government get
a low price for a big purchase , says Peggy Dixon,
spokeswoman for the Federal Law Enforcement Training
Center in Glynco, Ga . The training center and others like it run
by the Homeland Security Department use as many as 15
million rounds every year, mostly on shooting ranges and in
Dixon said one of the contracts would allow Homeland
Security to buy up to 750 million rounds of ammunition over
the next five years for its training facilities. The rounds are
used for basic and advanced law enforcement training for
federal law enforcement agencies under the department’s
umbrella. The facilities also offer firearms training to tens of
thousands of federal law enforcement officers. More than 90
federal agencies and 70,000 agents and officers used the
department’s training center last year.
Agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
are also purchasing bullets, despite lax border
enforcement and plans to legalize tens of millions of
immigrants living in the country without documented
However, Infowars reporters, including Paul Joseph
Watson, have noted the alignment of mass quantity bullet
purchases with government contingency plans for
containing civil unrest in the event of economic collapse,
mass-scale terrorism, civil war or widespread natural
disaster. Any one of these scenarios could destabilize
society, but government would have enough ammunition
to wage a 30-year war against Americans, or presumably,
to keep the population in line under martial law

And the fact that ALL of the ammunition purchased is hollow point ammunition, which is BANNED under international treaties including the Geneva Convention.
#9 Feb 26, 2013
Why do I see a couple of irritating sidelines here? Like who owns the ammo plant? We should just make our own gov't ammo. Must be some crooked politicians cousin who delivers an envelope once a month. Maybe a Halliburton offshoot? And will all the illegals become legal when they get in the frontline? They'll probably tell them "it's the front of the line".

This seems to be more of a common sense thing.
Your children learn fire is hot and they should not touch it. Locking up a gun when you know someone is not stable should be the same.
But this CANNOT be a "law". By even asking for this you would be asking for a gun registry and random searches on gun owners to "see if they are following the law".
A gun registry is illegal and WILL NOT HAPPEN!!!
So this should be a case that people should be educating them self on when to lock up their guns.

Hollow Point Ammo is ILLEGAL to use other then game hunting. So good luck with that BS bud , I did not need to read all of it to know you did not do your damn homework but just talked out your ass!!
#12 Feb 26, 2013
wtf are you talking about? where in that article does it mention hollow point bullets?
#13 Feb 26, 2013
Do your homework and see that the larger amount of the Ammunition ordered are hollow points. To blindly post without looking at the real orders , makes your post pointless.
Giving a partial truth still equals a lie.
#14 Feb 26, 2013
Excuse me dipshit are you claiming that the government is ordering hollow point to shoot animals?

Feds training with Targets of Pregnant
Women, Kids, Seniors
February 26, 2013. Minneapolis. It was frighteningly
ominous when President Obama graduated the first
class of Homeland Youth five months ago. It became
even more worrisome when the Dept of Homeland
Security ordered more than 2 billion rounds of
ammunition to protect itself from the American people.
But now, it’s been confirmed that US agents have been
training with targets depicting pregnant women,
children and seniors.
Just some of the 'No More Hesitation' gun
range targets ordered by the government.
Pregnant women, children and senior citizens
At first, federal agents and local law enforcement used the
millennia-old circular targets, with outstretching rings to show
the shooter’s skill level. Bored with those, next came silhouette
targets that were more fun for the agents – pictures of people
like Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.
Now, the company that supplies targets to the Department of
Homeland Security has confirmed that at the request of law
enforcement officials, the corporation created and produced
new targets. These new targets depicted regular, everyday
Americans. Among the new line of gun range targets the
company sells to US agencies are pictures of pregnant women,
children and senior citizens.

LMAO , I think we are both seeing the same stuff dude. Your first post did not say anything about the Hollow Points and looked more like a Defence of the reasoning for them.
Same side bro.
