Rumor has it that those 2 were actually employees of the department of children and families.

They are celebrating the installation of the astro turf. It is my final gift to this fine city.

Tsk Tsk. Just because you lost your children to them does not mean that you should hold a grudge.

By the way - I'll be dedicating a 16 year old statue at KT Murphy. Can't get enough PR these days, and lord knows I need it for my run at governorship.

If you look at it from the Harbor Dr. side, it appears one has her hand on the others butt.

Just what is this all about anyway?

Is it something to do with the breast cancer fundraiser that is held annually?

My grudge against them involves stealing children without warrants, stealing children for monetary gain, and placing children in harms way i.e. "licensed foster homes" where pedophiles run free to abuse and molest.

The good employees get fired for not stealing enough kids while the vicious ones get promoted.

Angela has a story about the sculpture in the 9/20 Advocate. A WPA work, entitled "Neighbors," it was relocated from the former Fairfield Court housing complex at Fairfield and Stillwater Avenues. So, now we know it was a restored depression-era work which has found a new home. The location is a bit ironic, with its proximity to the post WWII quonset huts that once occupied the new soccer fields.

What were the purpose of the qunoset huts? As a kid, I remember seeing them back where the boats are now being stored.

Post WWII there were thousands of GIs coming home - married - with nowhere to live. The Quonset Huts were supposed to be a temporary answer to the housing shortage. They were there for a long time.
Their eventual demolition was not smooth. Some residents were relocated to trailers for a time. Trailers parked right under the "old" city incinerator. Talk about a motivation to move..that was it.

Other Quonset huts were on High Ridge Road across from Terrace.
