Paul did well. The writer must have written this in August because "is leaving" means he could change his mind. If written in November "has left" would be correct. Written by an intern probably edited by a long island invader who doesn't understand english even as a second language.

Paul Newman showed what a celebrity who's made it should REALLY do with his energy and his wealth. It is sickening how the Jennifer Anistons & Matthew McConuagheys, and rap stars like Kanye West and 50 Cent and Eminem don't do anything to give back to the world, once they've made it. They have amassed great wealth from $8 movie tickets and $15 music CDs, just turning out vapid, violent and mysogynist film and music content that panders to the lowest common denominator of teens and 20-Somethings. Their "artistic" accomplishments are not uplifting at all, and they hoard their money, wasting it on lavish homes and lifestyles, retinues of bodyguards, etc. Even Oprah Winfrey, who gears her TV show to supposedly trying to help people & has a net worth over $1 Billion, in my opinion doesn't do nearly enough to give back to the world (yes I know, she's putting 100 men thru Moorehouse College, and started those schools for girls in South Africa, but c'mon ... she's worth over $1 Billion. Oprah: take 1/2 of that and really do something for the world)!!

Mr. Illiterate Moron:

Next time you want to criticize the grammar skills of ANYONE, you might want to:

A). CAPITALIZE PROPER NOUNS!!!

i.e. Long Island; English

B). Punctuate introductory clauses(i.e. if, when, as,...) with a comma!!

So, I guess you are a CT-born illiterate.

My thoughts exactly. Writing in the future tense about a dead man's "plans" lends credence to the theory that most newsday writers are teetering on the brink of functional illiteracy.
