Same thing in Stratford and no one's talking - although I heard rumor to the effect that there wasn't enough in the town pumps, and I also heard that 6 out of 12 plows broke down while they were plowing. Barnum Ave is plowed, parts of Broadbridge and Main are, as well as Nichols Ave, but not ONE side street has seen a plow since Friday afternoon. Parts of some streets are cleared, thanks to tireless citizens with shovels and their own snowthrowers, but other than that, nothing. Even though the National Guard was seen at Main and Barnum. Or so I heard.

Yes, much of the south end of Bpt was dealt with by citizens. The University of Bridgeport dug itself out very quickly. But they should have sent one bucketloader all the way down Park Ave, for emergencies, etc. Nothing.

BTW our First Selectman is a Democrat and guess what--our roads are clear.

Wow, lesson learned on topping off the tanks at the city pumps. Thats bad.
The snow is melting very fast now, which is nice. I actually heard a redwing blackbird as I was shoveling!

Yes, how incredibly stupid to restrict traffic into the area so they can clean the roads. They should have encouraged everyone to come on down with shovels.

I'm not trying to argue, you are. You blame the Bridgeport democrat administration for not getting the roads plowed. I merely showed you that the democrat administration in Fairfield had no problem clearing roads. So maybe it's not the persons political affliation but the person.

I'm merely correcting you- and Fairfield has nothing like the Bridgeport democratic machine, patronage, corruption, complete alienation of the electorate, fraudulent absentee voting, or democrat domination. So it's not surprising that they could manage. And when I lived in Fairfield, I voted for Flatto, as Metsopoluos (sp) was a spend-a-holic idiot.
