I remember visiting my Great aunt Della Neff Patchin and uncle John Patchin growing up in the 40's and 50's.We drove to Burnside right after it was ruined and I was shocked. It was a special house with its huge porch, wide beautiful staircase inside the front door, ornate woodwork inside and out to be destroyed by someone with a big dream without common sense. I hope it is sold and not demolished for me to see the next time I take my drive to Burnside and Westover. Judy McKee States Huntingdon

I wish I knew more of its history and could see photos of it before the renovations were started. My daughter and I were over there taking photos and asking the locals about it. I would love to see someone buy it and finish it but as I understand there are leans against it and it would be very hard for anyone to buy it. It would make a nice bed and breakfast. There has been a substantial amount of vandalism to it and the roof has collapsed in one room.

I have some pictures of the old Patchin house I will send you. I have to remember where I saw them last. I also have a newspaper article with a picture included. I'll make you a copy.

I'm almost sure I don't have any of the inside, but I will go through my picture's and double check. Are you the new owner?

A friend of mine purchased that house and are working on restoring it. The pool house roof had fallen in and they are really getting it back together.

I remember that house when della lived there, in fact, she baked my wedding cake. loved the home and loved della. I remember the stair case. I know who bought it and they are doing a good job fixing it up. I live near the house and see it every day.

We were past it on our way to the Harmony Grange Fair and saw some work was being done and there were lights on inside. I am fascinated by that building and and am glad to see it is being finished. Best of luck to the new owners!

My grandparents lived right across the street from the Mansion back in the day up until about 1980. I used come up from Virginia every Easter to visit. Before that place was built I remember fishing as a kid at the lake behind it. Great memories of Burnside, loved the train track and little corner store. I would love to go back now and visit:))

I too live in Glen Campbell and am really interested in this house. I drove by the other day and took pictures. It's so fascinating and beautiful! I would live to know more about the actual truth in history. I've heard several different stories. Brechavers@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I am buying the house next to the mansion & was wandering if anyone has any info about that house... I understand that it was built with the mansion (as a house for his 2 unmarried daughters). I am trying to reach any locals who may be at all familiar with the history of the mansion and the white victorian to the right of it. I bought the old white house and am having a very hard time finding its history. From what i am told, it was built by the owner of the mansion but thats really all I know. I absolutely love the house & am desperate to discover its background. I cant tell you how much i would appriciate any info or old pictures of it! Even the smallest bit of information would help. Please anyone, help out a fellow history-lover & i will be forever indebted to you! PLEASE contact me at beccijo369@yahoo.com
