itd be nice to get the other council members here and have them voice their thoughts,and outlook for the city.

Who,What and When will the East end dump be cleaned up????? I'm giving the CM 1 yr then I'm taking pictures for YouTube. I'm tired of being held to a different standard than the City |
||||
Very good point. You must understand he has trouble hearing, I think?? |
||||
How's his sight,can't he see the Motor Medic dump and the City garage dump with all the brush around it? If those two areas were cleaned up think of the difference it would make when someone drives into town.And would cost the City very little to do this. |

They need to enforce the building codes and get those small shop owners to clean up their store fronts,maybe put up some awning type fronts. This would go along way toward beautification of Salem.

I agree, but again,Ronnies not much of a Supervisor.It should never have gotten that way in the first place.Same with the vehicles.VERY LITTLE EFFORT to keep them clean,and clean up around the citys garage. VERY LITTLE EFFORT. AS far as the CM's hearing,he only sees and hears what he wants. |
||||
Leave them alone they are helping to pay for out of town street lights. They need to save and live |
||||
When you get in your office check with the clerks and there was an ord. that said no awning allowed |

They need to have people clean up around their houses and yards, too. For instance, take a look at Israel's house... What's good for the goose is good for the gander...

Mr. Williams,
You are a MORON!!!! Do you not have anything more constructive or importaint to bring to this city than 20-25 street lights? The lights help maintain safe streets. Please sir, I voted for you. Can you please not let me regret that, or is it to late? I can think of so many more things that you could help get done and bring attention to. How about cleaning the dump around the city owened property on the east end, new cop cars, a new garbage truck, getting Liberty St. paved, a new roof for the city building and on and on I could go. You are a laughing stock at the concil meeting by the public and your fellow concil members. Please sir, get back a hold of your witts and common sense. |

This is the CM job.Read the charter |

Where in the world is all the Tax dollars going in Salem?? Are we just financing a big public employee dynasty up there?
The CM needs to to get a grip on the City's finances and get the town in order. It's shame to see all that brush and trash around the entrance to East Salem. That's something he can do very easily. Let's gitt'er done CM. |

Salem does not have much curb appeal,that's for sure.
|
||||
Theres an ordinance that says NO AWNINGS ALLOWED? didnt the drugstore just put an awning up last year? which looks really good by the way,sad,but only one nice looking store on Mainstreet. |
||||
So you want to pay for something thats out of city limits?So be it.you probably will get to. It would be really nice to see the east end cleaned up,I.E the city plant,shop and the old Moto Medic building,but I doubt thatll happen. NEW police cars,Garbage truck? where are they going to get the money for that?According to what everyone at the city hall says,Salem doesnt have any. They dont need new police cars,they just bought some last year and they are in really great condition for being used. As far as a new garbage truck,the one that bought in 06 just got paid off,and I dont think theyll by in the market to buy a NEW one just yet.Israel is talking about stuff that can/could save the city money,such as the street lights that are out of town. I dont think hes a Moron,I just think hes not one thats going to let you people push him the way you want to,he speaks his mind,and doesnt play favorites to any of them in city hall. We NEED MORE LIKE HIM,ones thats not going to let anyone push them around and vote for they way they want them to vote. Israel has apparently told the voters how he is,and will be on the water project,and Im guessing on other issues too,You cant predict whats to come,but Im sure hes told you all that he will not be a puppet for the city and you all still voted him in.SO apparently you all liked what you heard,NOW YOURE GOING TO TURN YOUR BACKS ON HIM AND START NAME CALLING? Gee Ward,I wish the Beave was here to see this. |

Amen brother!!! I just listened to a story about how the Head of the SEC was a friend of Bernie Madoff. Well you can see what happens when your in the Circle. Israel stay in the Circle of the people who elected you and you will be re-elected. Granted you won't make any friends or much money, but you will be doing what you were elected to do,the City's business for the City taxpayers. Hang in there Israel |
||||

yea, lets just elect a whole bunch of douchebags to the council so they can completely ruin the town.. i'm syure we can find more loudmouth israels around town somewhere

You people really need to attend city council meetings if you want to know what is really happening. At the last meeting, every individual council member expressed their personal thoughts on the various issues connected with the removal of street light that the city is paying the bill for. They all expressed themselves well and made a number of good points. The City manager started this idea of reviewing what street lights the city is paying for to determine if the city can save money by eliminating lights and reducing its electric bill. The general consensus of council members believe the entire study needs to be completed prior to making decisions on what lights will be removed. One good reason for this is the difficulty in dealing with the power company on such issues. It's much easier to present them with one list of all the lights you want removed than to deal with them on a piecemeal basis. In the end, as a result of the city manager's initiative on this issue, because he it was his idea to start it in the first place, the city should end up saving money by eliminating un-needed street lights, probably both inside the city limits and outside the city limits. |

Here is food for though, close down this web site because too much city busness is being given to the public. By me and others. This is new to the city and the good old buddy semstem does not work as well with this site in place. They are upset because I brought up the authors of the Water, bond and loan. They are not happy with this. The street lights same thing. They tried to get to me with name calling which has not worked eather.
