Where is the justice?

Back in Sept. of 2005 a woman in Weston(a neighbor) stole my childrens xmas money. I had been saving change in a big jar for the past 3 years and that is all that I had for xmas. I don't have alot of money but I had managed to save atleast $500.00. I did the right thing and reported it to the police. Chief Clem came out to my house and to make a long story short the woman admitted stealing my money but to no avail no repayment, no criminal charges have been filed as far as I know. I leave message after message for Chief Clem to call me back and let me know what is going on but he never does. It is now July. How long do I have to wait? If anyone would know who I would go to for help please let me know.

Sorry to learn about the loss. I know what it is like to pinch and save to try to make it through Christmas. I have 4 kids of my own and could not imagine the frustration you must be experiencing with the justice apartment.
Could you contact legal aide? Perhaps they would know of someone who could help you.
Perhaps, there is nothing the police dept can do. Maybe your neighbor felt she needed it. Perhaps she did. Stealing is NEVER justified, but we must always remember someone else may have it worse. Good luck.

Thank you for responding to my letter. Thank you for the kind words and giving me some idea what to do about this. I didn't what to seem uncareing. I wouldn't have had so much trouble accepting this but the woman that stole from me spent it at bingo and won 1,500.00 at the Pricetown fire department that very night. And as far as Cheif Clem he repeatedly told me that he was going to arrest her but that never happened and if something happened that he couldn't arrest her he should have let me know. But he assured me that there was.

Wow. Now I am getting angry for you. I would try legal aide. At the very least they should be able to point you in a direction of who could help.Good luck, and keep us posted.

In April of 2006 me and my boyfriend went out to have a good time at a bar in Glenville called Tarzans. A guy descided to grabbed my butt as I was standing with my boyfriend just to start a fight. And of course it worked. We all got threw out and as we were leaving about 8 or 9 guys still wanted to fight and were standing in the road trying to get us to stop and one of them jumped on the hood of my car screaming at me to stop and it looked like he had a hand held pistol in his hand. I was terrified, way too scared to stop the car so I kept going. Now, I am being charged with malicious assault, conspiracy to committ malicious assault and so is my boyfriend. I asked to press charges on the guy for sexual assualt, assualt for hitting me on the eye, and for jumping on the car. They did not do anything except for pressing the charges on me and my boyfriend. Where's the justice in that!

The Weston police are a joke always have been and Clem is an absolute do nothing so your chances of getting restitution are slim and none.

Accept it since no one is going to help you. You'll only waste your time and effort if you try. Send clem a bag of donuts and thank him for doing such a wonderful job.

Sorry for all the trouble. What a long time to wait with no assistance or repayment. Don't know much about Clem. A friend of mine used to know a Posey that didn't do much. Hope you get it worked out, but it doesn't sound good. I am really sorry for your children.

I have one for you. My children were in a private school that allowed my children to view porn on the internet.... even after I showed the staff what was going on. I pull the kids from school and now the school sues me for the rest of the tuition. Not to mention that they are breaking about every private school law in the state. I still can't find a lawyer. And the state attorney's office says they can't help because it's already an ongoing case. Board of Ed says they can't enforce the laws. It's BS.

All they will do is tell you that you don't have any witnesses or they can't do anything about it. I should know first hand because I've complained numerous times about Sheriff Gissy, Magistrate Hull, and our joke of a county prosecutor and all I got was a bunch of double talk and an investigation where all parties involved arrogantly confessed to it be for some reason these bozos are still employed.
