McKinney Lawn & Timber

[Concerned]

Does anyone know what happened to McKinney Lawn & Timber on South McDonald Street? I noticed Saturday that their place was cleaned out. I called their number and did get anything. They've been in business there for a long time and did some good work on my mowers and were also very helpful with ordering parts also.

Went there awhile back and then went to another parts shop on Louisiana (or is it Virginia?) and the guy there stated that the "new" owners of ML&T couldn't make the rent payments...

I had seen a decline in stock over a couple of years. Not much in the way of new weed eaters etc on display. The shelves were beginning to be bare about 6 months ago. Even ended up purchasing a part that had been returned by a city (open package and grungy) but paid new price. Beggers can't be choosy if it is what is needed and can't be found anywhere else.

oh almost forgot . . . they are looking for the owners of all those mowers and equipment so if you are one call the phone number they have posted.

Thanks for the info. I did business with them back in the early 90's. Actually bought a Stihl weed trimmer from them in 1993-94 and it lasted around 10 years. All my dealings with them were good. I didn't know there were new owners though. It's a shame they're gone, but if they couldn't manage things, then they didn't need to be open. Where is the other parts shop on Louisiana/Virginia? BTW, if you're westbound from the square going toward 75, it's Virginia. Eastbound (that is from the First Baptist Church area) toward McDonald, it's Louisiana.

I found out yesterday "Irrigators" on Throckmorton just north of Virginia is now selling Stihl and other lawnmower parts. I think they are trying to take up the business lost by McKinney lawn and timber.

There is a shop on the west side of 75 in Richardson too.
