Wow so this election turned out to be a total joke ... first off Westmoreland was the only place in Tennessee that turned down liquor by the drink and package liquor ... so i guess everyone just wants this town to die off ... other places were smart enough to see it was a way to at least make a little money (coopertown, ridgetop, orlinda,a nd many more) but nope not here. Lets just take handfulls of money and throw it to the county and gallatin because if people are gonna drink they will buy it elsewhere ... so why cant we profit from it? And really this town re elected Ricky Cline and Brian Smalling jesus what is wrong with everyone those two are the main reason half the shit in this town that could help it doesnt happen ... I was really glad to see Kim Farley get voted in but sad that Shane Mclanahan didnt get it! I have lost all hope for this town. The mayor goes to these county and state meetings trying to get us money and from what i hear they are saying if we wont help ourselves then why should they ... so i guess people want this town to die off like Red Boiling Springs so bravo yall killed this town!

Great job Westmoreland, you have really put Westmoreland on the map for sure. I can see it now, the new Westmoreland tourist "haha" pamplet now. Welcome to Westmoreland TN. Come to the only place in the country where "TRADITION" held true. So, we welcome you to "Ghost Town of Sumner County" or also known as "The Biggest Joke in Sumner County". Please excuse the bad odor cause we are also known as the "A** of Sumner County". We really hope you enjoy driving past us and laughing your tails off. So please tell all of your friends, so they can laugh also. So, again Westmoreland, a very big THANK YOU for your "TRADITION".
Kinda odd

Facbook has a page "Say No To Beer Sales In Westmoreland" . There are 37 members. One of those members is Chef Christopher. That proves that people in this town are hypocrites and live by double standards. Chef Christopher serves alcoholic beverages at events he caters. His chosen profession allows him to make money selling alcohol. Think about it..

RBS died because if ignorance and greed. The same is true in Westmoreland. Has nothing to do with beverages. It has ALL to do about being self serving.

I DONT THINK HE LIVES IN THE CITY NOR MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT SHOW UP AGAIST BEER. THE VOTE SHOWS HOW MANY PEOPLE SUPPORT ALCOHOL IF TEN OF THOSE PEOPLE WOULD COME SUPPORT IT AT THE COUNCIL MEETING INSTEAD OF JUST TONY BENTLES CREW YOU WOULD ALREADY HAVE SUNDAY BEER SALES.

Six out of seven liquor referendums in the Nashville area passed easily Tuesday.
Continuing coverage of Election2012
Such referendums in the past were often accompanied by fiery pulpit sermons, dividing communities and sometimes even churches with accusations of crime and vice. But changing demographics and the area’s explosive growth in recent years have made such measures less divisive and easier to pass. Supporters say cities lose tax revenue to other cities by banning liquor.
Mt. Juliet is an apt example. The building of Providence Marketplace in 2006 and thousands of homes surrounding it brought an influx of new residents to the area. Tuesday’s package liquor measure passed there easily, 8,277 votes to 3,321, in unofficial results.
Jim Bradshaw, a Mt. Juliet city and Wilson County commissioner, recalled such measures taking multiple tries before passing in years past.
“How times have changed,” he said.“It will be a convenience and will bring in revenue.”
In Williamson County, Nolensville voters approved package liquor sales in their city, 2,143 votes to 1,038.
All four initiatives in Robertson County — liquor by the drink in Coopertown, Cross Plains and Orlinda and package liquor sales in Greenbrier — passed, with 58 to 60 percent of voters approving those measures. In Coopertown, the tally was 1,170 votes to 798; in Cross Plains, 345 votes to 250; in Greenbrier, 1,403 votes to 999; and in Orlinda, 195 votes to 137.
Voters in Westmoreland in Sumner County appeared unlikely to approve liquor stores or liquor by the drink, according to early returns there.

Well that creates another problem don't it? WHY are people that do not live in Westmoreland minding the business of the people that actually do live here? Get a life and get a new cause. If u don't live here in the city limits shut the hell up. The next time a bunch of no beer sales hypocrites show up at a council meeting they all ought be asked for their home address. That would take care of alot of the meddlers and troublemakers. Bentle needs to keep his tight little homo ass home in the closet or better yet in Brian Smallling's closet.

Are you gonna be the one to go ask them for them addresses .... I bet ya you won't even go .... The only reason any of u are on here is because u have no life .... If u wanna buy beer on Sundays drive ur ass about 5 min up the road to cooks .... And try to come back at me with the hole u must not have a life either thing and ill tell u ur right , I'm just extremely bored ... If u give it time they will eventually sell beer on Sundays and start selling liqueur*...
