Future mayor of westmoreland

They are my thoughts to VOTER .Like I said I do not have any thing personal against Cindy but once she gets to be mayor if voted in there is no way that she can represent the town like it should be represented and everyone knows that her allegiance is to her paying clients.

To be able to attend all the meetings required of a mayor plu other mayors duties and not short change her clients she would have to be two people. The sooner that the people of Westmoreland know this one big factor about electing her ,maybe they will elect the person who has the time as well as the ambition to represent Westmoreland as it should be represented.

Thanks for being a smart person.

Westmoreland citizens....let's all have a "mayor candidate bashing party" on the internet...Really? really! First, let's all talk about about the worst possible things about each candidate.
Mike Carter- HIs wife writes the checks he would be signing. Wow! Can we forsee a future problem with that? ;) ;)$$$
Wendell- 8th grade education and he doesn't read books. Really? Let's make him our mayor. Is he gonna be able to read the documents you discuss..or the checks he has to sign (that the first candidate's wife writes).
Cynthia-She has a very well established, successful business in gallatin, she's very intelligent and well-educated, and she brings her dog to meetings. Really? That's all ya got? What the crap is wrong with her loving her dog. Really Westmoreland? And so what she has a practice in Gallatin, she is very successful...she has surpassed the other candidates' education BY FAR and is way more qualified for the position. She has already been working on grants and stuff for the town and she has only been mayor for four months or so. Her business is very successful, so why would you doubt that she could make our city more successful? But now that I think of it...why would she even wanna be mayor of a city who wants to vote in such unworthy candidates that would rather our town be redneck/hickish?
Oh and btw...I've seen her dog...and its so cute..why would you not want it in a meeting room with you?:) Shame on you Cynthia for loving your dog.

Did u only read one post?? Was it the dog statement that caught ur eye?? Are u stupid or what??? Read the parts about Cindy being on the council for 16 frigging years and has done nothing to benifit this town..not a dam thing...All she is doing now is carrying out what Ricky Woodard set in motion...Get over her so called higher education being an asset cause there has been no evidence of that for 16 years...Do u "really" think that Cindy is gonna give up an hour in court that will possibly pay her $1500.00 or more for a possible one hour "Westmoreland" meeting that may pay her $100.00 or nothing??? "DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE SHE WOULD DO THAT???" I doubt it...Again I need as do several other people an example of "anything" that CINDY TEMPLETON HAS DONE TO HELP THIS TOWN..The question has been asked several times but nobody has answered it. Could it be because she has done nothing??? Stupidity does run wild at election time..People may look smart but when they open their mouth their ignorance is evident...This forum is proof of that...

First let me say I like all the candidates as friends.
Now, the state comptrollers office watches and audits the recorders office very closely, so that should alleviate your fears there.
Furthermore, I don't think Mr. Holmes wants the job. He is just pulling votes from the other candidates.
Cindy has been on the council how many years? Vice mayor how long? What has she done in that time? Why wait until now to do anything for the city.
How will she manage a sucsessful law firm in another town, appear in court, write depositions, meet with clients and travel back and forth to our town and have time for council meetings. And take into account she would have to attend other, possibly out of town meetings on city buisness.
I love dogs too, and have no problem with attending the meetings. Maybe the dog will contribute something useful.

Go ahead and vote for Cynthia "CYNTHIA" AND TO "really" COMMENT AND THE "dog" (MAYBE THE SAME PERSON????
HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW SUCCESSFUL CYNTHIA'S PRACTICE IS???

I still want to know if she accomplished every thing she wrote in the paper the people in this town are not stupid and know that those things were already put in action before she became roll in mayor and shes only blowing smoke that she did all of that in the short period that shes been mayor.

If her practice is so "successful" she would not be running for Mayor because she absolutely would not have the time to be Mayor.

And "if" she can do all of the things that she put in the paper in a couple of months PLEASSSSSSSS tell us what rock shes been hiding from in the past 16 yrs of sercice to this town??/

Go ahead cast your vote for the lady and for all the good she will do for this town if shes elected
you just might want the dog as her vice mayor.

THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL YOU KNOW THAT RIGHT????

Well one thing is for sure. That is everyone has their own feelings and opinions on who and what is best for this town. Another thing is that not all people are going to agree with which candidate is or isn't the best for this town. The thing is that"we" the citizens, need to try to come together for the sake of this town and get our heads out of our butts from cutting each other down for one's feelings and/or opinions as well as cutting each and every candidate down in some way, shape or form. I feel that this is our town and if we can't get along with one another to agree on "who" and "what" is best for this us then I see this town going down hill no matter who is elected to run it.

well said whatever. I think these forums are way of amusing ourselves. I think people already know who they are voting for and they enjoy bashing people.....it happens all the time. I do want to see Westmoreland do good and I hope the one I vote for wins, but if not - then I hope whoever in there will work towards that goal of making Westmoreland a better place. Which I think it already is a good place. I do work out of town and I don't ever really think that will change, but that is ok with me. I love Westmoreland - even if it never does change.

And to Judy - I call a truce - you have your opinion and I have mine - no need to get mean about it. I was only stating my opinion - I will exercise my right to vote, just as you will. Peace

Yes people do already know who they are going to vote for. I agree with you The dog. Westmoreland is a good place to live. I've been in this area for most of my life and it has had some changes over the years. The main thing is to me that it is peaceful living, crime rates are not high and most of every one knows every body. We as the citizens tho should stick together to try to keep this lil town a close knit community. I feel that no matter how much bashing goes on here it doesn't change the fact that we all do really have one main goal in mind and that is to keep Westmoreland a good place to live and raise our children/or granchildren. We shouldn't lose insight on the simple things in life.

Both of the last comments are right and I too want to set the record straight.
I have lived in this town most of my life and you are right its much more safer than other towns and the schools are really great plus the people here are good people .

Many of them are on fixed incomes and cannot afford the high taxes and water and sewer rates as they are today. I have not bashed any candidate but am only pointing out facts about all of them and like I have said a couple of times I only want the best for this town and in my opinion Cindy isn't the best candidate for the job of mayor. We really need someone to devote a lot of time in this town to make real change soon as possible.Someone to really be free to work a lot of hours and get the job done.
So I rest my case and like you& vote for who I think will do the best job for this town just like you are doing and may the best person win.I will support whoever wins .After all its my town too.

My kid is still here in town but is thinking of leaving because theres no work here for her and we need some one to think about the kids in this town.

Anyway Good luck and God Bless!!!

Yes Judy I agree with about we need to think of our children/or grandchildren because they are our future to come. They seem to know more about all this modern technology these days than some of us adults do. That is what they are being taught in school so they will have the knowledge for our future. Which ever candidate gets the job should keep that in mind as well. May God Bless Us All.

I also want whats best and I think it is Cindy Templeton. Since her husband was injured she spends alot of time at home working which means she close. She does claims for people on social security which means she has time and can set her own hours. And after all the counsels job is to back up the mayor also so if there is something she can't attend then maybe they can. Mayor Woodard gave the job of GNRC meetings to Mike so he would have less time to harrass people and get a life. Did Cindy set on the council at the time of the grant for Sirens. YES , how do we know that it wasn't her idea or another council menber because we have Freda telling us that whose husband also is running for Mayor. Get a life Carters and stop trying to run the city.

I have to totally agree with carissa let's also remind the voting public about the council meeting that mr carter told a citizen in the audience that he could not speak and if he did not like it he could what he had said he could move out of town. Now isn't that the character of a good decent citizen caring mayor

Of course - I will say up front that I am for Cynthia - and I will not bash the other candidates. But as for the people who bash the other candidates - let me say this to you.......it only drives my vote to the bashee's (if that is a word). I have read so much bashing against Cynthia - that it makes me sick. Why can't you just list the good and qualifications of your candidate. No - I don't know about her time - but if I am taking on too much, I know it......so I would assume she would know if she was taking on too much herself!! Furthermore - I will support whoever gets in - but I DO HOPE IT IS CYNTHIA!!!!!! But I do hope that when all is said and votes are done - you will support the mayor, whomever it may be, as well! God Bless Westmoreland!

You can't bash somebody if u speaking the truth about em..Nobody has lied on Cindy..Mike or Wendell..They have given their opinions as to "whom" they think would be the better mayor They all 3 got "quirks"...they all 3 got personality traits that the public don't like... for instance...I liked Ricky Woodard as a person but not as a mayor..I like Cindy as a person but not as an attorney or council person she is tooo wishy washy in her actions...Wendell is okay as a person but he gets pissed off over an issue and has quit the council as well as places of employment more than once....I don't like Mike Carter as a person but as a councilman he appears to have some common sense but he's still a smart ass either way......J.Ray..R.Cline..D.Har rison are okay as people but do they want the position of councilman for the right reasons??? Voting for a candidate for "personal reasons" is the wrong thing to do...hmmm gotta feeling that is gonna be how this race is decided...won't help the citizens or the town if so...hmmmm just have to see how it goes..
It does not matter

Westmoreland, TN

#79 Oct 26, 2010
It doesn't matter who gets elected mayor because the only thing that is going to change around this town is the seasons. No one is going to bring growth, jobs, businesses or change to this town. We are still going to be having this same debate in 20 years just with different names on the ballot. That is of course if this place is still around in 20 years!

It's that kind of attitude that's the biggest problem in Westmoreland now. If "It does not matter" why do you bother to post ??
question

could anyone answer this question? news on the street. Why does Mike Carter NOT pay sewer but lives in the city limits? he is a councilman running for mayor and does not mind raising rates but he does not have to pay the sewer portion of the water bill????? just wondering if there any any truth in this.
