Thank you Elvira. I know we may not agree on a lot of things. But is that not the way we work out our differences. If we always agree on everything with everybody, nothing will ever get done. I feel I get bashed for trying to do good things for this town. I just don't get that. I am not in the top class here, so I am nobody. I love everybody and wish the best for them, but some wish me gone. I use to drank and all that and I was bashed for that. Now I don't and get bashed for that. I hope you understand how they make me feel.

Hm, there is alot of facts and opinions pointed out here. I think Cindy has done great with this town since Woodard died. He was awesome. I think we can all agree on that. The question is, who can really change this town. I respect Cindy but as Dixie said, is she dedicated? I will be voting for Wendell Holmes. He's a great guy who wants to do whats best for this town.

I'm impressed! People exercising their rights by voicing opinions without the useless bashing and name calling. Vote for the candidate of your choice for your own reasons. Make your own decisions. About the only way the average citizen can bring forth any change is to VOTE!

Westmoreland Ricky, I am not against you. I may even vote for you if for no other reason than you "hang in there." Don't get discouraged.

I am trying not to be. But people want to win and they don't care how. I am not that way. I want to be as honest with all you as I can be. And I feel so bad for all this kids around here. They get the same treatment I am for them and love them so much. But they have nothing to do and nobody cares. And then I read about some of them getting in trouble with drugs. That in itself is discouraging. Thank you.

I am not a politian. They make promises knowing they can't keep them. If I say I will try, that is what I will do. I would be only one vote and it takes 3 to do anything. But I hear some make promises, that is wrong. And go look at North First street and tell me how that road is. Came through there today. I had a problem missing holes.

Westmoreland Ricky means well at least he is trying to do something for the town. Wendell is all about the way it use to be, Mike is stubborn and thinks his way or no way he can't get out of the box, Cindy gets my vote she has an education which we need ,someone that is willing to go toe to toe for this town. Please people get out and vote go to an council meeting see for your self what is going on.

Cindy has been on the council for 10+ years..Could u give the readers here an example of how her "education" and being an attorney has benifited the city of Westmoreland??? I just can't seem to think of any great feats she has accomplished...

If Cindy Templeton is so great why is the little city of Westmoreland in such terrible financial distress??
16 yrs of being on the council, city judge etc. she hasn't had much success in helping this city at all in my opinion.

Now she wants to fill that "BIG" ego for herself and be the mayor of this city that really doesn't need another attorney because we already have one now on the payroll, but needs a leader and a really professional person at the helm and she is not that person!!.

She has missed a few of the council meetings and those she didn't miss she was late showing up and at some of them she actually brought her dog with her.Really professional!!

I was at the forum last night and she was asked the question on how was she going to be a mayor of the city and devote as much time to the job as it requires and run her atty.office in another city full time??

Her answer was that she has learned to use technology and run her office in Gallatin by email and her computer.
She told the people at the forum that they could get in touch with her via email.

What about the people who do not have email???Is that how she will run the Mayor"s job??If so we are in for some rough times.

I wonder if her computer goes to court for her????

I feel that every one thinks that they know who and what is best for this town. People should be really be voiceing their opinions @ the meetings. That's where it matters most. Not on this website. I also feel that Cindy will do just as a good of a job as mayor as she is an attorney. If Cindy thought that she couldn't be dedicated to the position, then she wouldn't be running for it I suppose. Anyone in that position especially Cindy already knows how much work and dedication is required. After all she has been the vice mayor as well as acting mayor after the sudden and sad death of our mayor so why not let her continue to do the job?

I agree with you, where were Mr. Holmes and Mr.Carter fifteen years ago while Mrs. Templeton was right here serving the city. I have talked to all the candidates one on one several times and she's the only one with the citys best interest in mind. The other two just want the power and glory that come with the job. Mr. Carter wants to raise the towns tax base so his kids can get paid for working for the town. Mr. Holmes just wants the check he's already said he does not leave town and would not go to meetings and in the newspaper he was asked what was the last book he had read and his response was " I don't read books". Everyone needs to be verry cautious if they are considering voting for these two because any progress that the former mayor had made will for sure be lost. They are probly why the place is in such bad shape to begin with.

Again, 16 years with the town(city) of Westmoreland and what exactly did she do?? The town is broke and where was Cindy when Mr Carter was attending all of the meetings that he didn't even have to do but did so for the benefit of the town.

Check out Cindy's record and see how many she attended. Also I too have spoken with all of the candidates at one time or another and in my opinion Wendell and mike carter would be a much better choice than Cindy and if she does become the mayor of this town she will be watched like a hawk by many to see if shes attending all of the meetings that are required of her as well as if she is following the charter that discribes her duties that any mayor is mandated to do.
What ugly things to say about Mr Carter and Mr Holmes, two really nice people and neither of them need the measley sum of money that they will be paid I am sure.I don't know who you are but making ugly untrue remarks about any candidate is unnecessary.

dam...everybody knows that Cindy and Wendell are in the race to take votes away from Mike Carter..They could care less about the town..Wendell evidently proved that at the forum..and Cindy ( who has done nothing outstanding in 16 yrs with city government) wanting to "revitalize downtown" PLEASE GET OVER THAT CRAP..Westmoreland needs to move foward into the future not try to keep businesses going in 150 yr old falling down structures..And nepotisim runs rampant in Westmoreland..it always has and always will...When u vote u need put personal feelings aside cause in the long run it won't help ur cause..

You can do a lot of revitalizing in 16 yrs so where has Cindy been all those years??? As far as nepotisim is concerned what about Cindy and her brother Brian Smalling most always voting on the issues together?? Check out how many times they voted together via the minutes kept at city hall for every one to read.

If Cindy cared so much about her town why didn't she open her Attorney practice in her own town instead of Gallatin???

I agree wiyh you NO VOTES HERE everyone who lives in this town need to put their personal feelings aside and check out all of the candidates who want to run their town and see how much they have done or not done for this town since they have been in office and the ones that are new and are running for election go ask them questions about their agenda for the town.
There were only about 50 people at the forum Weds night out of more than 2000 residents in the city.

People just donot seem to care about who is elected and as a result end up electing people who do nothing for the town and those who do it all for the town are scrutinized and penalized for voicing their opinions if they think the town is going in the wrong direction.

What a joke!!!I want to know exactly what Cindy Templeton has done for the city that really has made a difference in the past 16 yrs of her being in her different positions. Can someone on this forum tell me please???

The best way to revitalize "downtown," would be to move it out of the "hole," it is in to up on new 52 or 31E to where the traffic is.

The advantage Mr. Carter has is that he is retired and will be able to devote the time needed to do a good job. There are many local, county, and state meetings that should be attended by the mayor. A mayor with a full time job cannot be at them all. There are groups and committees on the county and state level that need to have Westmoreland representation on them. Since our town does not pay for a full time mayor or city manager the next best thing is to have a retired person with experience in that spot. Just a thought worth thinking.
