By now I imagine most of the people of Rockingham have gotten a severe shock treatment via their property tax bills.

Ridiculous, yes. Absurd, yes. The biggest portion of the bill? You guessed it, the school tax.

Rockingham has one of the highest tax rates in the state. Why? It’s the school tax rate and that’s because the school budgets keep getting voted in by a small portion of the town’s population who obviously have deep pockets.

Why are those budgets absurd one may ask and why is it costing us more and more each year?

Take a look at the panel studying improvements to the Bellows Falls Middle School --$30,000 in studies, folks. That’s $30,000 of our tax money. That’s $30,000 that could have been used to actually make repairs to the school’s aging systems, which is what the studies are all about.

This kind of spending is what is killing the tax payers in Rockingham and it has to stop.

Lot of activity Saturday during the day in BF and had nothing to do with old home days, a tremendous police presence was noted at the victims house and the local police station.

The local police are assisting VTSP in this very serious crime and hopefully their mutual endeavors will end in the arrests of these hoodlums.

The local [police] have gone back to total encryption on all radio transmissions so as not to tip their hands but also nosy busybodies on the hill that listen in. Atkinson street during old home days had an unusual event not on the schedule. FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS IN THE BANK PARKING LOT Further up Atkinson street sidewalk sales became so brisk in broad daylight that a special delivery had to be done by the usual out of state car. The first of the month is always a busy time with the state checks in the mail.

Downtown BF also had a screaming match fight right in the square but was quickly subdued by some of the citizens who broomed the gang.

Saturday a gay blade event was held at a residence on Canal Street with the bucket gang and CREEP in attendance. An unusual event also occurred at Green and Atkinson Street at 550 AM if you can pinpoint that location on your village maps please do so, the legion lot was the scene of an assault Saturday even before the fireworks began along with RJ'S and Sacred Heart on Green Street kept the BFFD & BFPD & GCA hopping all night long.

One local family got misdirected by GPS and ended up in the worst section of our nations capital but a quick call to the hotline in BF and pointed back to 1600 Penn Ave.

Meanwhile Community relations and policing have gone to a new level stay tuned for that.

See you at the Meeting House this afternoon.

Enjoy the day great weather.
