So a committee that was set up to exploore...... is considering.... What in the name of Aunt Frannies fanny, "considering"?? What were they gonna do, keep the newly explored way(s) to themselves? Usually you start out with an objective in mind then work toward it then work it/present it.

How can one solution be the best solution if you don't know how much it will cost? The minds of this small minority are made up. the rest of the folks in the town obiously a nanny state to do what's best for them.

We turned this down before. Let sleeping dogs lay. Or will this small minority continue to bring this up year after year (spending tax dollars without a care in the world)?

Who are the people who feel that the original wording was not clear enough. Names please otherwise it's just the 8 year old's way of saying "but Ma, the wording isn't clear enough, whine, whine".

It was clear enough for over twice as many people to vote the proposal down as voted for it.

The prob is, too many people with time on thier hands - too many trust funders in Westminster.

So, you want to be able to throw out all the trash you possibly can and let the rest of the tax payers pay for your wasteful habits? People all over the country are trying to encourage as much recycling as possible and minimizing the waste stream. But hey, maybe you are a rich flatland trust funder and don't give a d**n about the cost. You're a real stand up guy, Sonny.

I like going to the dump, you always see your friends and neighbors. A little recycling at the dump won't hurt

The voters in the town of Westminster who were at the meeting at BFUHS all agreed that we would not conform to curb side recycling. It was stated that if you want to recycle, you could simply go to the town garage or the recycling center. What is this talk for now? I thought we were all very clear about this subject. I guess some people aren't bright enough to know what "NO" means! It means "NO!!" As a resident and homeowner in the town I will not be bullied into doing any kind of curb side recycling. It is a persons choice to recycle if they so choose!
The Selectboard in town needs to realize that the property owners of the town own the town. Not a select few who feel they hold positions of power. It is the choice of the town to approve what the selectboard would like to see happen. Not the other way around. I think that fact was made pretty clear on May 4, 2010. The people all spoke up and chose to turn down the "Pay-as-you-throw system." The curb side recycling was also a subject that night. Am I the only one who remembers that night?
Well if the selectboard wants to encourage more people to go to town meeting day this is surely the way to do it. And for those who can not attend due to jobs, we now know how to get another vote going.
Why don't you people discuss topics that actually matter to the town? Not ways to be politically correct? I think maybe when it's voting time for selectman seats in Westminster we should have a few of you "De-throwned". I know I'll re-think my voting practices after the crap you people have pulled this year. And I NEVER miss voting day!!!

Dinty, Love your stew by the way.

I think re-cycling is fine. I do it. We have 2 places in town to bring your recyclables. Works for me.

If you know someone who can't make it to one of the 2 recycling centers in town why not take their stuff yourself.

Just because someone related to a selectman has a blue recycling box business, it doesn't mean that we as a town have to go along for the recycle.

What's gonna happen is that this small minority of noise makers are going to pi** people off so they'll just heave their trash over the bank and that's that.
Standing up while I write this..........
