WOW !! Given Exit 5 's proximity to everything this seems to be the logical and obvious choice.Green Mountain Power had no problem making their decision, A site of 6 - 10 acres would probably even allow for a heliport for emergencies. The state police could have a new state of the art facility and only lose a few extra minutes and couple gallons of gas in response time to Brattleboro.

An "over 2 year search"?

What, was the guy doing it on foot? and now the state goober want's to begin a round of never quite ending meetings, presentations, etc.

Can't wait to hear if there's some endangered bug or varmit living up there. Then there'll be more meetings, discussions, presentations and no building built.

BTW, too many suspects - not enough rooms - how about sticking them in the backseat of the trooper's cars. handcuff & shackle them and lock the doors. Why not make use of the Brat. & BF police stations when the unusual occurrance of having more than 2 woodchucks to arrest?

Search, over 2 years - another state gov't boon-doggle on our dime.

Also note, more land in Westminster going off the grand list. just great.

What about that land between route 5 and the heights road that was to become the "Westminster Business Park"? I believe it was also called Larry Allens' Folly. That would be an decent location given that nice new access road they built. Currently it's just a new driveway to his old farm. Seems a waste.

I remember when the West B. barracks was brand new.Personally I thought it was out of date when it was opened.Pretty cheaply built and more generic than a police office/barracks.Hard to believe the they have been in this dump for 40 yeaars! They certainly deserve better.

They land helicopters at the Rockingham barracks now. I don't know about W.Bratt.
The barracks should be right off the interstate, if there is to be only one.
More stimulus fund spending I suppose.

This is going to be so upsetting to those using a bail clerk and getting home while still DUI How can I get a "friend" for a ride or bail out there. They don't seem to care about us stretching our freedom and where they think is best for them. We should take this to court as cruel and degrading. Lets protest and let the VT. know of how they want to treat us.

A new barracks may be nice but what we need is NEW OFFICERS! What a bunch or self-absorbed asses who call themselves our guardians and protectors. What a joke, most of those punks were bullied in school and now push their authority on others at everybody's expense!

Whatever happened to the State Police who respected the public and were well respected in return? Must I list names? Anyone remember the respected State cop who was given a farewell party with so many participants that well-wishers had to stand at the door?
What happened to this great relationship the police & public shared? Why do we have to put up with such abuse and disrespect from those currently on the force?
A new building will not rectify this problem.

Hey Really, what did you to get jammed up by them ? The ones I have met are all pretty polite and respectful, if your getting abused you probaly have done something to be abused by them. But hey there not all perfect and there is a bad apple in every bunch, but don't put them all into one category.

And look at what they have to deal with. Years ago you did not have a fraction of the turds and rats that are around now. Respect earns respect.
