This story is lacking in details the man who State police wont identify is a minor and star athlete from Bellows Falls VT This boy was viscously beaten and left for dead, the inside of the car was horrific with blood and vomit and evidence of drinking. All the players in this assault are well known to the entire community of students of BFUHS.

Teen drinking is a serious problem and needs to be addressed by the entire system and this person who continually buys the booze should be brought to justice along with the assailants. What difference does it make if it is a hail of bullets as was the case in Chester VT the same weekend or a gang of youths that hold an entire village hostage to crime.

Thank god this boy is lucky to be alive.

This guy gets beat up in a fight, driven to Brattleboro hospital and flown to Dartmoth hospital. WHO pays for his medical expenses? I am sure he is a hard working and outstanding citizen with great health care insurance.

What are you suggesting? That this unconscious and critical patient get no care unless he pays up first?

With single payer it wouldn't be a problem, he's in the system and he or his family is paying the premiums.

But back to the incident, if this is teen drinking gone way out of hand, I hope the police can find who's responsible. It sounds like attempted murder.

Why don't just knock down Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and turn it into one big heliport? Seems like all they do is bring people yhere and fly them out to the better hospitals in New Hampshire anyway.

What do I suggest? That person should not have been there in the first place. Its called a bad choice. Hopefully he will learn from this.

drop em off at daycare, let the government run schools raise them, get them involved in sports and they will turn out to be good kids

grandparents ran off to a retirement community, aunts an uncles scattered all over the country chasing the almighty dollar, their cousins are strangers, most of the family divorced.

In my area,NO ONE gets turned away from emergency treatment whether they have insurance or not. Ambulance (ground and air) are usually covered.

How the heck do you think single payer would improve on the current situation?? My only thought is that that you are saying that single payer would cover people who don't have insurance. WHO PAYS FOR THAT???

This horrible (fight ) situation needs a major and prompt police response.

Absolutely, just like if you make a bad choice like choosing to smoke, drink, etc -- you have made a bad choice. They should let you rot if you have related health issues.

For that matter, the most dangerous thing ANY of us do is get into a car. The stats don't lie, it kills way more people than anything else. Bad choice? Should accident victims get turned away?
