What is amazing is for 2 years both these board have been trying to figure out ways to get the tourist to come into town and spend their money, then they turn around and do this. How many people you think are gonna come to BF and spend their money after getting a ticket, another point this board missed, is if there is a crim taking place in Rockingham it would probaly be a good idea for the cops patrolling to stop and prevent it. And Mr Hearn, in case you have not noticed this board does what they want, when they want and how they want with no regard to what we, the taxpayers think. Can't wait until a Bellows Falls cruiser is in a chase and someone gets hurt or killed from a crash. Rockingham residents, this is your 1st stop on merging, enjoy the ride.

The village shoulders the entire burden of the police dept. budget but the town gets 50% of the revenue after the state takes its $35.00 fee.

Good for the town bad for the village.

You want to talk about safety do something about controling the traffic coming off and going onto the the arch bridge. There needs to be a 3 way stop sign or something. Someone is going to get killed.Ihave seen a BF police car there a couple of times with the cop sittting inside the car with his lights on. I don't understand why the boards think they need to go outside the village.Get out and walk the streets do some real police work.Running radar siting in you cop car is just to easy.

Does anyone know the stats so far? Maybe this is a good thing?

Was this a unanimous vote? I bet 60% of the town and village would be against this.

a traffic signal is needed, maybe they can buy or rent to one sitting on the NH end of the closed bridge and recycle it

What is the big deal? So a BF cop can drive down to Saxtons River and back. Not sure why anyone would think writing a "tourist" flying down Route 5 or 121 at Mach 3 in their Range Rover would be a bad thing - I would like to see more of it. As if they wouldn't come back - speeding tickets happen, so what. There is always some local fool rocketing down those roads anyways, and I rarely ever see a cop. Occasionaly I see a state trooper or a white unmarked car around there, but that is it.

Can't wait to see them, especially if the Village PD claims revenue did not cover actual expenses. Then watch the fun start when the selectboard wants to haggle about cost calculations.
In none of the news coverage has there been any actual scenarios reported with anticipated costs and revenues from the "new" tickets being projected. Perhaps the two boards have seen them but NO reporting of them. That way I suppose no one can use them as a benchmark for success or failure of this initiative.

It's good to see the police get out of the village, they may get hurt by some village druggie. If it's not working ,don't make it bigger, fix the problem ! Nobody wants the police in Rockingham........NOBODY !You're not fixing the problem , you're expanding it.
