Everyone makes innocent mistakes now and again. That's to be expected. But what we don't expect is to be repeatedly punched in the face and severely injured for a simple misunderstanding -- such as driving down a main thoroughfare that has been temporarily closed for a community event.

He will be released on conditions. Any bets?

And god help us all if these two low lifes are put through that "alternative justice" program, or whatever it's called. I have never encountered anyone who has been through that program who did not laugh at it. It's very well intentioned but it is not taken at all seriously by many of its participants who simply feel they got away with whatever it was they did.

Fran once arrested you are entitled to more rights than the good citizens. Is this meant to be oh ya. That's how half the lawyers get work to argue over your rights and money. At this point you are no longer needed and they volley for longer trail "more money"

Not only is the alternative justice a joke the Vermont prison system is a joke.We have several parolees living in BF.

When the are released they get Medicare and EBT (WELFARE CARDS) up to $300.00 per month ,what have they learned nothing.

We need to vote these liberals out of office.

These two guys did not grow up in BF. And, this is FAR from their 1st offense & incidents. The communities around here need protection & these guys need to be locked up.

Deplorable actions

Quick note to BF residents on comments and the link posted here.

1st I think it might be good to have a quiet candle light vigil outside town hall 1 night soon as our way of taking back the night to prove to bullies and elected officials we wont be afraid and draw attention to this issue of our village head on.

2nd Dave Willard is a hero he took a stand and should be recognized as such by town hall and the citizens and the Chamber with downtown merchants also maybe gift certificates etc.

3rd Ernie Chamberlin who returned that large sum of money brings out the good and honesty of our community maybe a proclamation by elected officials that same night.

This will not require a lot of planning and can be spontaneous or a gathering pot luck event to show that the community is one and wont be intimidated .

4TH HOW ABOUT A CAR POOL TO GET SENIORS TO THE COURT FOR ARRAIGNMENT DAY OF THESE 2 THUGS IT WILL SEND A MESSAGE TO BOTH THE COURTS AND THEM QUIETLY. I REALLY FEEL THE DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS AND CHAMBER MIGHT ADD TO THIS HORRENDOUS SITUATION AS A UNITED FRONT WITH ALL OF US.

Please let me hear from you and pass this on.

Jimmy Mitchell, you have reached an all time low here with this comment - pretending to be a mom. Please don't sensationalize this incident with a bogus name whose intention is potluck candlight vigils to take back the town... Just call it like it is -One drunk man arrested for beating up another man. It happens.
