There was more information in this article earlier that has since been removed. Information that didn't not shed a kind light on the VSP.

My condolences go to the family of the victim in this sad case. Also my condolences go to the residents of Westminster and especially to the mom who showed up at the rec area with her children to enjoy a picnic. After the body was removed from the scene and the scene cleared of all the state police what was left was unbelievable. No one took responsibility to clean up the area and there was gun shells, body matter and blood all over the picnic table. No one knows if this person may have had some infectious disease that could have infected someone else with contact. Shame on the responsible parties here. This pool area is used by people from surrounding towns all summer. Thank God someone was able to alert the mom before she and her children were exposed. That area should have been cleaned and the table disposed of immediately. It was also said the state police took an hour to arrive after the initial call was made reporting shots fired and a body. And the word is the new combined barracks will be in Westminster. Maybe then they will be able to respond to a call a lot faster but I don't think it matters. Thats what we pay for????

I think the point is being missed..it seems like there has been an increase in suicides around here lately, violent suicides. I think people need to wake up and notice if there neighbors or friends are acting or behaving differently and try to offer help or suggest that the person get help. It can make a difference in someones life if they know someone that cares.

I know the victim and the family well and years ago they lost a dear family member in a car
accident. I can pray for this mans soul and hope that families that endure such pain can get the
help they need to prevent such horrible incidents like this.

I have witnessed this in my line of work so many times and it haunts me to this day, you could not
imagine when a child saw his dad kill his mother and then himself in front of his son, when I walked
into the house the child rubbing his eyes trying to cry asked me "Are Mommy and Daddy in Hell"

This particular crime scene was unimaginable and my simple answer to this child was no son at times
people that love each so much get so angry that horrible things like this happens but GOD LOVES THEM
AND THEY BOTH ARE IN HEAVEN NOW AT PEACE What else could you say to a child?

Years ago a teenage boy in my neighborhood committed suicide and I was at that scene, it is frozen in time
almost like a dream it stunned me a crowd of his friends found out and rushed to this scene to watch it unfold, the utter silence as they carried this young man from the home to try to save his life, after the ambulance left his mother came home to find out from a neighbor what had just transpired, all eyes watching her she let out a shrill cry that pierced every heart at that scene, it remained me of a bible passage instantly.

I hear the voice of one weeping in the desert for her child who is no more, all I could do was I called a priest immediately we took this mother to the hospital and prayed for his soul, the good priest anointed his body as we all wept.

We all have our Calvary's to walk in our hearts and lives and prayer is all that gets me by but as you said so well please help your neighbors and yourself when a soul is so tormented , compassion and love helps the helpless and prayers when you walk alone, it helps me everyday.

Rest in peace my friends.

Most of our nieghbors say the man was shot 5 times. Not your typical suicide. How about some investigative reporting?

Since you only have the word of "most of your neighbors"... were they there at the time? If so why didn't they report it to the police?... I'd say keep your mouth shut until you know for sure. In most places what "most of the neighbors" say is whatever they last heard someone ELSE say.

I am not sure how to approach this in a DECENT way, but the reports did state that there were "gunshots"(plural) heard, and multiple "shells" left behind...I just hope this is looked into properly to be sure that someone else wasn't there to "help" and take advantage of a troubled soul in need. I had a friend whose father took his own life, so I understand the pain and confusion this leaves. My thoughts and prayers are with all who were touched by this tragic loss.

Have no fear, this story is only three days old. I'm sure the Reform has it's team of investigative reporters on it and we should be getting the facts someday.

Who exactly do you think would be responsible to clean up such a mess?

I think you should think before you type. Would you want your daughter to have to read this garbage just a few short days after learning of your death? Have some compassion for goodness sakes.

First of all I want to say how sorry I am to the family!! He was a great person who will always be missed!! I use to live on Moorse Brook Rd and went to the pool a lot, think it def should of been cleaned up, but u gutta remember its a crime scene which may have evidence the cops need. But I agree afta the investigation of the body and around it, it should of ALL been cleaned up and well sanatized for those who go to enjoy time there. I heard that there was like 20 rounds shot off and the cops were called but noone bothered investigating it until the next morning. I also heard he was shot once, before he shot himself he shot off many rounds... maybe looking for help that never came???:( RIP!!!
