airiel map? are you kidding me? Don't they have blueprints or something? I think its all a scam, the same scam that washington uses when they say they spend $500.00 on a hammer. Here is a thought, how about an airiel map of where all the illegals live? I guess beautifyng downtown is a lost cause now. Try finishing one project before you start another.

What a bunch of losers running Hanover!

Wasting money on an aerial map of its utilities? Really? Why not do something useful instead, like provide residents with a real recycling program similar to ones the communities around us have?

It would be a real treat not to have several plastic containers full of stuff sitting around your house for a month, or a recycling center open when working people can get in after work other than the 2nd Thursay following the 3rd full week of the months ending with "y" for 32.5 minutes on a Saturday.

Oh wait...that would make sense. Never mind.

not a bad idea, but the REAL waste is having THREE, count them, THREE Hanover Boro Water guys driving around marking, one on the tail gate (which is really NOT that safe!) and two in the cab of the p/u truck?! What's up with that? You might get away with two, one driver and one sprayer, but THREE?? Typical gov't waste! Or is this part of the ObAmA "create jobs" bright idea?? Think people, think!

Is this really news? I wish everyone would pay attention to their driving more than paint on the ground.

"The contract is for utility mapping, a geographic information system and a water system model, according to the motion approved by the council Wednesday"

I do not pretend to be THAT smart - but the markings have been on the roads for a few weeks - and the article reads "according to the motion approved by the council Wednesday." Shouldn't that motion have been approved BEFORE work was started? Perhaps I misread the article.........

I don't see what people are so upset about. The way it was before was just inefficient. They apparently have a huge map in their office that people have to share and sometimes they have to go back to the office and reference it multiple times. If they can keep better track of the utility lines electronically then we all win. It's better than someone being too lazy to go back and look at the map again and instead digging up a gas line or whatever. I'd rather the money go to a project like that and not just re-doing a sidewalk that doesn't need it.

Can't we try reproducing the map in a format that could be taken in the field easier. Is this mapping fee a one time thing or does it contain other updates that will cost us more money? Just doesn't seem like something that is NEEDED right now.

I saw a crew of 3-4 guys vacuuming out stormdrain inlets in my neighborhood recently with one very nice vacuum truck? Is this something that really needs to be done to every inlet in the township? Doesn't a heavy storm clean most inlets out? Or can't we just do clogged inlets that are causing flooding issues? I guess the township couldn't say no to that big fancy vacuum truck. Spend our money in good times then ask for more money in bad times.
